Who wants to start a nation-wide protest of all tv and newspapers next week or the week after?
We would demand that the media tells the truth about Obama, the economy, the war and everything else they lie about.
We could make signs and hand out flyers. Telling everyone how the media is literally destroying this country with there lies and deception.
We could set up a website to promote our cause and sign up for protests at different media outlets. If this went national, the media couldn't ignore it.
What do you say? Do you think it could be done quickly?
Help and advice welcomed and appreciated. Who wants to partner with me?
LET"S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need a good banner for the top of site:
Something patriotic with the words:
Protest the Media
Maybe some people could start coming up with fliers and sign slogans.
Come on folks, can save the America myself. lol
Thanks for all the encouragement and ideas.
Youneed to get the DC Chapter on this.
“We FReepers saw this during ReCount 2000. We marched right outside the Media building doors and heard not even a peep from them.”
Because you didn’t do anything illegal.
Just call the organization “Rage Against The Media”
We would demand that the media tells the truth about Obama, the economy, the war and everything else they lie about.
Seriously, the only way to accomplish this is:
1. Remember that the bias is not via lies nearly as much as it is in what the media (AP, NYT, network news) doesn't report.
2. Focus on specifics of what news you want reported. I've even fantasized about a kind of pay-per-view arrangement where it was pay-per-question. Like saying, "I'll pay $$ to see a serious, convincing investigation into Obama's birth certificate." I'd like to see a romaing man-in-the-crowd live interview at a McCain Palin rally, where the reporter asks: "Do you think those hecklers wree Obama plants, or do you think it was genuine?" That's what I'd ask. Viewers should be the ones directing the questions, not a "trained" journalist.
Unless we hold a dagger to the throats of advertisers through real boycotts, we can't "demand" that "the media" do anything. The marketplace must have some mechanism to accommodate real journalism.
I've been spreading that idea since the bail out treason. It's time we pulled together and did the one thing that really will make a difference in Washington.
Let me know more about your plans. . .you’ve got my attention.
Goals and methods:
The goal should be to demonstrate to the American People how crooked the press is, and enlist them in an effective revolt against the lazy, uncritical press.....
Direct action against the MSM is not the first priority, rather, it is educating the American people about how corrupt the press is.
Oh do I agree with THIS!
I think the PUMAs might be interested in this as well. Is anyone here registered on a PUMA forum? Unfortunately, I am not and I have read they have closed registratons now.
I’ll bring the 60’s music.
(You didn’t have to blow up the Pentagon or drop acid to like the music :0)
ok, I have a site www.protestthemedia.com. I have loaded a phpbb3 forum on there. I have not a clue what to do next. Does anybody know???
I can’t find where to put categories or nothing. Someone please help.
If you go to the site, you will see how far I have gotten, and is not far.
There's your answer. Form a NATIONAL ORGANIZATION with LOCAL CHAPTERS in every community.
Welcome to FR. Many of us here don't watch the DBM (drive by media) anyway, and most have discontinued the print media. There are not many here to protest by refusing to watch TV news or quitting paper subscriptions.
If you want to see how we are thrilled by the demise of the DBM, read articles posted by abb (Dinosaur Media DeathWatch).
Most FReepers are delighted that the DBM is in dire straights. They are losing their monoply due to the Internet and bloggers.
So much to do here in such a little time. Even Jay Leno has been hands off with 0bama and Democrats. Every night his jokes have themes with Bush is stupid, McCain is old, Palin is a hick. No jokes about 0bama's friends, inexperience, or lack of accomplishments. No jokes about Dems causing the mortgage crisis, blocking fannie regulations, etc..
Afew rambling thoughts before coffee or breakfast.
Just registered. A ping needs to be done and links to videos and articles would be the first thing to do. Ping everyone that has posted here, start a new media protest ping list.
Links. I'll post what I can find but just lost my hard drive 4 days ago and with it went all the links I saved on this. Seems I bookmarked a thread here that had a lot of links.
When more information is on the media protest site I'll email a link to all my contacts, suggest all do the same.
Perhaps a new thread needs to be started, you could link back to this one. Would hate to see this thread get buried, this needs to get more exposure here.
Contact a moderator and have them put a link on the top of the page.
Thanks again for getting this going.

Help need on this site. Everyone needs to register and post links.
I am not sure your method, another forum, is the right method.
You only need a single web page, stating what people should do, and maybe a counter that identifies how many site-visits the site has received.
The rest must be done:
(a)on any and all forums that already exist, with you and other freepers, and other like minded persons, telling people about the protest and giving the url for the web-page with the protest description
(b)with you and other freepers and other like-minded individuals to use all the blog, forum, member, comment web venues they go to, to announce about the protest and giving a link to the protest page
(c)with everyone also told to use their own Email address book to inform everyone in it about the protest.
A new separate place to blog will not perform - get what you want - better than a + b + c above.
This just my opinion, I did not start the web site, but think it is a good idea to have another site.
This protest will be more effective if it is much more than just a freeper event. Too easy for our opinions here to be dismissed as just "ultra right wing conservative thinking".
We can and should play an important role in getting this going.
