Yeah, yeah, I understand the “generalizations” stuff. But they exist for a reason. Yes, there are some Arab Christians. Yes, there are Asian kids who suck at math. Yes, there are Southerners who hate beer and guns. Yes, there are military officers who love liberals. Etc, etc, etc.
However, given the reasons why such generalities exist, you formulate your base opinions and adjust it on a case-by-case basis. I didn’t hate every Arab I met over there, but it was close. My opinion of Arabs (in general) will always be negative, adjusted to the occasional individual of the same background I meet who doesn’t deserve scorn.
I really do appreciate your calming posts and until I read this post I have been telling everyone to calm down as this new set of attacks and ads were going ro be the difference maker...friends of mine that are panicking about McCain losing to Obama. I’ve been laughing with a friend all day and then McCain drops this stinkbomb on me.
I give up totally. I will pull that lever for Palin, I’ll keep my signs up for Palin, I’ll defend Palin, but John McCain is nothing but a necessary evil for me now.
I hope this isn’t taken as a vent towards you I’m just at wits end with this guy and this party. Never have I witnessed a bigger coward. I hope that wnhen this is all over I can send a post to you saying you were right and I can feel silly about it.

Oh, please. Don’t try to tell me this is some great McCain plan to win the election. This is just McCain acting like he’s always acted. That’s one of his strengths. He’s consistent...consistently RINO. Ugh!

The Get Out The Vote and the fund raising effort just took a bullet. It may recover but it has been injured.
And ... he is not on the same page as his campaign staffers who are going after Obama with (almost) everything they have. He is sending one message and Sarah and the ads that are running are sending out a completely different and opposite message.
Let's face it. He screwed up big time.

One of the main reasons given here on FR all the time for why McCain must win.....because of the type of Supreme Court Justices Obama would nominate. A man in the audience stands up and echos this very same concern and McCain responds the way he did????
He hasn’t even been elected and is already reaching across the aisle to Democrats and smacking down his supporters. Maybe he could have answered with a statement such as.....Obama’s own words show us that he will nominate activist judges that legislate from the bench”. Then go on to site what Obama said the other day about how the next Supreme Court Justice should be able to empathize with what it’s like to be a young, unwed mother, or gay, etc.
McCain will not nominate a conservative judge. Even Ronald Reagan nominated Kennedy who votes in favor of abortion rights, voted against the congressional law banning virtual child pornography, and takes a strong stance in favor of expanding Constitutional rights to cover sexual orientation. Pres. Bush the elder nominated Souter for heaven’s sakes.
The MSM tee hees about it, and no Republican man has stood up and defended her honor.

Yep, McCain will not get partisan, his refusal to come out on the attack about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac just proves it.
He wouldn’t even brag about his own legislation a few years ago warning about the collaspe, then he FINALLY did it.
