Racism, naturally, plays a part in the conversation. "I've never forgotten that he is a smart, articulate black man with a smart, articulate black wife," says Linda Wright, 34, a nurse's assistant from Houston."You think white people were just going to turn over the keys to the most important job in the land without a fight?" The overriding feeling is apprehension, a vague fear of losing something people thought was theirs to keep. "My kids love Obama and they think it's so obvious he should be the president," says actor D. L. Hughley. "I was just honest in saying life isn't always fair and certainly isn't always fair for African-Americans. But Obama has overcome so many obstacles, it's easy to forget reality."
There's not a lot of angeryetbut you can start to sense the potential for it. "I'm going to be mad, real mad, if he doesn't win," says Daetwon Fisher, 21, a construction worker from Long Beach, Calif. "Because for him to come this far and lose will be just shady and a slap in black people's faces. I know there is already talk about protests and stuff if he loses, and I'm down for that."

It doesn’t matter if Obama wins or loses. A segment of the population will feel it’s their right to riot either way. Lose, then they’ll blame it on racism. Win, Obama will look the other way while rioters “celebrate.” Let the looting begin! /s
Anyone who would vote for Obama just because he’s black is racist... and I can’ find anything else that would make him qualify for the America’s first black president beside his race.
“My kids love Obama and know he should be president”
Ok, so she does what her kids say?
What will happen when Barry fails to win. Any one remember the Watts riots?
I wonder about what happens election night?
I’ve heard rumors that police in some major cities are making plans for the possibility of violence, just in case. I bet nobody will say anything on the record, but you can imagine them being at a state of alert, or emergency, or whatever the term is. And pray to God that nothing will happen.
I would worry the most if it’s a close election, because then the lawsuits and Jessie Jackson fraud charges will be out there. Jessie Jackson may not understand the power of words, but a few select words by people like him or Al Sharpton could incite a riot.
Yep! Exactly! And don't think for a minute that at least 75% of our armed military would not join the cause! The Federal Government would crumble under Obama if anarchy broke out and the U.S Armed Forces would be on our side. Pronto!
Ironically I am leaning toward buying some protection here in TN.
All the talk of riots if (WHEN) Nobama loses is making me a tad antsy. I will protect my family.....
Obama loses = America dodges bullet
Riots in the streets! Of course these rioters would not wish to do their thing in the cold. Better chance getting a new DVD or TV in the summer months.
bigbob: “More importantly, you dumbasses at Newsweek, is to think about What if he WINS?”
What an excellent question! Yeah, I’m betting on riots if he loses, but I’d rather have that than the socialist “paradise” Obama intends to create.
And, it really doesn’t matter if we say we are voting our principles, because many folks on the left are already convinced we’re racists. If Obama loses, they will respond in the typical leftist fashion.
I would consider it an early CHRISTmas present. My hope is that during the protests the malcontents would burn down most of the major cities. I can only dream.
If he loses we tell people it was because of his big ears....
I don’t care if Nobama looks like Frosty the Snowman, he’s a radical marxist and will NOT get my vote.
I’m glad I do not live in a big city. Riots will not occur where I live.
Thank God I got my concealed weapons permit, now it seems I might need a little more ammo than I assumed if this is the case!
I’m glad I do not live in a big city. Riots will not occur where I live.
Remember the race riots of the ‘60s? Numerous cities had riots, especially after Martin Luther King was assassinated. Let’s hope and pray that there aren’t any sparks coming out of the election to start rioting.
same reason?
I am not worried about this so I will nitpick and a statement made.
“You think white people were just going to turn over the keys to the most important job in the land without a fight?”
We know that the White House has Marine Guards. Do you think they have locks on the door?
I found this story while checking some facts.
One sunny day in 2009, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue , where hed been sitting on a park bench.
He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, I would like to go in and meet with President Barack Obama.
The Marine replied, Sir, Mr. Obama is not President and doesnt reside here.
The old man said, Okay, and walked away. The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, I would like to go in and meet with President Barack Obama.
The Marine again told the man, Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Obama is not President and doesnt reside here. The man thanked him and again walked away.
The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying I would like to go in and meet with President Barack Obama.
The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Obama. Ive told you already several times that Mr. Obama is not the President and doesnt reside here. Dont you understand?
The old man answered, Oh, I understand you fine. I just love hearing your answer!
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, See you tomorrow.
