More Conservatives Calling for Palin's Ouster

WASHINGTON (AP) — Has Sarah Palin become a liability for John McCain? Since joining his ticket, the overnight political celebrity has seen the shine come off her poll standings and doubts surface among some conservatives once excited about her candidacy.

The Alaska governor still draws huge crowds and energizes McCain's drive for the White House. Yet a whirlwind month after he made her his running mate, Palin is starting to seem very, very vulnerable.

A stumbling interview with CBS's Katie Couric last week in which Palin equated her state's proximity to Russia with foreign policy experience may have been her defining moment so far. Now, attention is shifting to her debate Thursday with Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden.

So far, Palin's been a huge hit with conservative and Republican voters, and McCain's frequent campaign-trail companion; but also a candidate largely sheltered from reporters whose few interviews have prompted some Republicans to react defensively and at times with frustration.

(snip)

"She answers questions like a beauty queen," said Obama backer Dawna Attig, 45, of Barre, Vt. "She's an insult to hard-working, intelligent women."

(snip)

Former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough, now a host on MSNBC television, said Palin "just seems to be out of her league" on national issues. Rich Lowry, editor of the conservative National Review magazine, called her performance "dreadful" and warned that without improvement, "she risks damaging her political brand forevermore." And conservative columnist Kathleen Parker said Palin should drop out to save "McCain, her party and the country she loves."

RE : “ “...Palin equated her state’s proximity to Russia with foreign policy experience...”

Not really. She was mocking the foreign policy
question in her own way.

As she was mocking Katie with “I’ll get back to ya”. I thought it was hysterical.

Her feelings towards the MSM couldn’t be clearer.”

I “got it” as well — mocking foreign policy question and “get back to ya Katie” re question about legislation put forth by McCain. Go Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!

Pssst.. don't tell any MSM employees but..

Russia Plans World's Longest Tunnel, a Link to Alaska

"In Alaska, a supporter of the project is former Governor Walter Joseph Hickel, who plans to co-chair a conference on the subject in Moscow next week.

"'Governor Hickel has long supported this concept, and he talks about it and writes about it,' said Malcolm Roberts, a senior fellow at the Anchorage-based Institute of the North, a research policy group focused on Arctic issues. Hickel governed Alaska from 1966 to 1969 as a Republican and then from 1990 to 1994 as a member of the Independence Party . . . ."

Don't tell Washington and the MSM that Alaska deals with Russia. Delete these lines after you read them.

RE: “I’m truly hoping there is a strategy to this. Possibly, getting her prepped on all of the major issues and then letting her loose for the home sprint. Gov. Palin with the right information will be death to the Democrats and they know it. That’s why they’re trying to do as much damage to her before she hits her stride.”

Exactly!!! From your mouth to the McCain camp’s ears!!!!!

You are exactly right. When I start giving just the facts - the response from the Obama lovers is exactly that - cover my ears, get up from the table, we are done....bye.

I once wondered how Hitler gained power and popularity in Germany.

No longer.

Deception is a MIGHTY STRONG force and power.

Sadly, it may take the dark curtain of Marxism falling on this country before they wake up. But then it will be too late.

Praying and working to see that does not happen....and one day our liberal friends will thank us.

People should have called for McCain ouster. He just called for the Treasury to spend 1 trillion buying up bad loans. WTF!?!? I think my pigs have more brains than John McCain.

For those who demean Palin, ask them who is more qualified to be President, Obama or Biden?

Wouldn’t miss it — my daughter and her friends are using four of the tickets and fifth is mine. We finally qualified with points to get OU/Texas tickets to equal our season tickets. No buying high priced tickets this time.

>> And Ann Coulter told us that John Roberts would be a bad jurror on the Supreme Court. <<

She also insisted she would campaign for the RATs if McCain was the GOP nominee, no matter what the circumstances (she has since flip-flopped on her "I don't care who McCain picks" rant). And let's not forget she said Fred Thompson was not a reliable conservative, but somehow Giuliani and Romney were.

Why this woman is still worshipped by some freepers I'll never know.

I don't get this "ouster" business. The only people who are calling for the "ouster" of Palin are....Obama supporters.

The alleged conservatives quoted, even the despicable Parker column, are all expressing concern about Palin's readiness. No one has called for her "ouster" except...Obama supporters.

This really infuriates me. As I've said before, it's Tonya Harding politics: We don't want to defeat her at the polls, she must be driven from the ticket. Which makes me suspect that, in spite of what "conservative" idiots are saying, Palin still scares the hell out of them.

If Governor Palin is SO bad for McCain, why are the loudest voices for HER ouster all Obama supporters?

Seems kind of strange to me, you'd think they would just keep quiet and snicker and prepare for their guy to win, yet they don't.

They want her out and a new VP for McCain so McCain has a chance?

Not bloody likely.

These attacks on Governor Palin remind of the attacks on Judge Bork, Dan Quayle, and Clarence Thomas, ONLY even worse.

It was poor strategy on the part of the McCain camp to start Sarah out with interviews from enemies, and then to keep her hidden at the very time she needed to be able to defend herself and prove them all wrong.

I read after the debate she is to make her rounds on conservative talk radio and am looking forward to it!

Except they know McCain will look even worse if Governor Palin LEAVES the ticket, which is why they call for it, in addition to the fact that it hurts the Governor's image, and the overall ticket.

It is sickening that conservatives are buying in to this.

I do too!I was so happy to see her nominated for VP. Look, honestly, I’m not happy with McCain. And I’ll be honest, I’m still not happy with how I feel the campaign has her on a leash. Have you seen her debates in Alaska? She’s beyond awesome, and I say, let her handle herself. They are trying to contain what I feel has the potential to be a young female Reagan. She could do great things for America and let her be herself so people can see her!!

“Former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough, now a host on MSNBC” Nuff said.

The MSM is getting tremendous mileage out of her Katie interview, which quite frankly was no where near as bad as they are making it sound. They take a couple of questions where she did not give the best answer she was capable of, and make her sound like a clueless nobody. Yet they ignore Biden’s daily gaffes, his apparent drunkenness, his small crowds.

A little googling shows that Dawna Attig isn’t exactly a hard-working productive member of society herself. But she does write poetry.
