I've taken some heat for being so optimistic, and I'm fine with it because I understand everything that is in this video and I see good people here becoming depressed and negative.

I will continue to be positive because I know the MSM is playing psy-ops with us and this forum is one of the last bastions of freedom. You MUST watch the whole video, some of you will feel better, some of you will be ashamed of yourselves, but you will be much smarter in the end.

Not just Freddie and Fannie, they set in motion many plans that they know or don’t care if and when they fail. As long as it spends YOUR money and makes the government larger.

I think the rich Communists and socialists that back Obama did caused the panic. Through surrogates like Henry Paulson, who is a huge lib.

Why Bush keeps these people around is beyond me. That was the biggest failure and mistake of his presidency. He should have summarily dismissed all the Clinton holdovers.

To his detriment and ours, they have destroyed his presidency and made him look like a joke.

I’m not trying to be optimistic or pessmistic.

If I knew a person who bought a house with an interest only mortgage and lived in it for 5 years, and got 10 credit cards and maxed them out, I would be quick to note that he has built a massive debt that will either bankrupt him or take him years of saving and modest living to dig himself out of.

That is our current economy. It is not pessimistic to point out the massive debt at every level in our economy and to point out the structural problems in the FIRE economy and to extrapolate those problems to their logical conclusion — a long, deep recession and the destruction of huge amounts of debt that are now based on far lower equity that they were or than they were predicted to be based on.

Sorry I can’t be “optimistic”. Sorry I can’t look at the real world problems and be “optimistic”. So far, my “pessimism” has saved me a 20% haircut in the stock market that I would have taken if I were “optimistic”.

I say, look at the data sitting right in front of you, analyze it and judge wisely. The data are there. You only have to open your eyes to see it.

I realize that analyzing wide-spread economic data is confusing, frustrating and difficult. I realize how much misinformation there is. I realize how sinister the MSM is and how easy it is to dismiss anything they say as evil propaganda (which it generally is). But sometimes the truth drops right in their lap and gives them a golden opportunity.

The economy is in very bad shape over the short term. A long, deep recession is all but guaranteed. I love optimistic, up-beat, can-do people but then, you can’t prepare yourself for what is coming if you don’t see it realistically.

I have been wondering if we should substitute the word "TANTRUM" for "panic".

"See what we can do to your 401(k)?" "Buy this car TODAY or NEVER!!" "It's a CRISIS".

OK, on paper I lost five digits yesterday.

But I also know if I run my business with criminal stupity and short sightnededness, I deserve to go down. I do not expect YOU to give ME a good severance package for being a greedy shortsighted idiot.

I saw enough of that in the last few decades in Fortune 500's. We would get someone who would ruin a division, and it would cost us millions to get rid of him. Amazingly, he would go on to a better position, and loot and wreck that. There were never any consequences.

Show me some real consequences for these people or don't ask me for a cent.

I woke up this morning with one thought on my mind - George Soros would love what is happening here and why is everyone behaving like we’ve all been drugged?

I wanted to write it down on FreeRepublic but too ashamed to write it and didn’t want to be laughed at. So I posted a few lame things and got on with my day. My gut hurting.
