A joint Russian-Indian company has started the development of a cruise missile capable of flying at Mach 5, which will make it 'impossible to intercept'. BrahMos-2 will be the next generation of the highly successful the BrahMos missile already used by Indian military.

‘impossible to intercept’
particle beam weapon.
Wow, uninerceptable. I wonder if it’s uninterceptable as well....
I don’t know the scope of all of this. I am mindful of an old bromide: What is possible is done. What is impossible will be done.
what difference does it make?...if the whiners and wimps like the ones here on fr get bamey elected, he won’t even have a missile defense....fire away , Russia....
Yeah, and the Titanic was unsinkable too.
Really big gas tank, or really short range.
If this is really a “cruise missle” it is intended to fly over long distances to a target for a precision strike. That takes fuel, lots of it. So does flying at supersonic speed which takes MUCH more fuel. Something wrong with this picture....if this thing does fly at Mach 2.5 it can only be for a very short time, probably at the terminal point of its flight.....
Regardless, it is fully vulnerable at its “slow flight” mode....and at Mach 2.5 it sacrifices much maneuverability needed for a precision strike. Something wrong here....
Another hypersonic missile announcement from Russia. How many of these claims have we heard over the past 10 years?
All I can say is never say never.
Just rearrange the letters and it is a Sham, Bro.
Yeah, but will it fly?
Even the Russkies are outsourcing their defence work!
I expect they mean “impossible to intercept” by technology which will be operational within the next ten years.
Lemme get this straight...
India, well known for people who screw up my customer accounts from US 1-800 # lines due to the fact they couldn’t speak English and worship cows who take a dump in their city streets...combined with Russians, who lost their Soviet satellites to Reagan’s doctrine, have created an UNinterceptable’ (Bush-speak) missile?
I have a bridge to sell to you guys...
Maybe the Russians could just use the hypersonic cavitating torpedo they developed.....I think they sunk the submarine Kursk (sp) with it in a trial.
