Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son's Bracelet... Where is Media?
Newsbusters ^ | September 28, 2008 | Warner Todd Huston

Barack Obama played the "me too" game during the Friday debates on September 26 after Senator John McCain mentioned that he was wearing a bracelet with the name of Cpl. Matthew Stanley, a resident of New Hampshire and a soldier that lost his life in Iraq in 2006. Obama said that he too had a bracelet. After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek of Merrill, Wisconsin.

Shockingly, however, Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son's name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family

They were never fawning over Kerry or Gore like they are over 0.

Ohhh, the fawning was there over Kerry, but in that case we were dealing with a REAL Benedict Arnold traitor v. Bush, not a miniscule ACORN commie v. McCain (POW). The Swifties (military, POWs, heroes all) easily penetrated the commie veil of the driveby media. Only similarity is that Obama, like Kerry, continues to put his foot deeply in his own mouth, writing his own spoofs....but so far the MSM is covering for him...and, so far, the POW's haven't stepped up the support for one of their own...other than a good showing at the RNC convention.

Have they???

If the media would have been doing their job in the first place obama would not be the nominee

Once it was he and Hillary, it had to be him. Voinivich was probably worse too.

.......f the media would have been doing their job in the first place obama would not be the nominee.....

That statement indicates a gross misunderstanding of the media. The election of Obama is precisely their job. The MSM excluding Fox, WSJ, Forbes, Weekly Standard and certain newspapers are all liberal organizations. The leftist TV presstitutes are funded for the specific purpose of political prapaganda.

NBC is the tool of the General Electric Co board. this was affirmed last week by the chairman Jeffrey Immelt.

Where is Media?

I take it that is a rhetorical question - we all know the ENTIRE DNC Media is in the tank for The Messiah. I certainly hope that more than just FR posters are understanding the blatant bias in our 'news' organizations, so called.

I have not met a single Obama supporter here. Even the government people I know who tend to be Democrat say they're either not voting the top of the ticket or they're voting McCain this year

It's very heavily McCain where I live too...but at work, it's almost all Obama, at least openly.

I just received this same story in an email. So it is making the rounds. I just hope it ends up on the news - somewhere...even if it is in Europe.

So...send this story to anyone you know who is in the service, especially overseas. Overseas voters already have their ballots and can start to mail them in. There are, unfortunately, military personnel who are supporting Obama. However, they more closely support one another.

I think, if our military personnel learn Obama is "using" one of them, against the wishes of the family, they will not be pleased at all and might wake up when they vote and, at least pick McCain who has honored them always.

Could be the Bradley/Wilder effect. Nobody openly admits to watching porn, abusing drugs, drinking to excess or abusing their spouse yet these things are all more prevalent in our society than they should be.

My point is not to equate supporting Obama with any of the above vices but to highlight the fact that people will mostly admit to what they think is a more acceptable behavior. This type of group-think is what makes the polls or conventional wisdom differ from reality. In the privacy of the voting booth people will express their preference absent a perceived stigma from bucking the trend.

Not controlled by the Dems, but they might as well be.

The MSM begs to be under the boot of the DNC - hurt me, hurt me, tell me what to do Master.

And Americans quit getting the daily paper, turn off the nightly news, and cancel subscriptions and still, they beg the DNC for talking points.

There should be some kind of natural limit on stupidity.

God bless you and your family for the sacrifices you have all made! I have many in my family who have served honorably. May God watch and keep over your son about to go in next year.

We might as well “nationalize” the media as they are so in the tank for the liberals, i.e.: Obama, that we wpuldn’t even see a change. I can just barely watch Fox News anymore they are so swinging left with all their “fair and balanced” pundits on amymore. It used to be a safe harbor for conservative views, but I have stopped watching Hannity due to too much colmes (what a complete idiot alan is) and BOR is too impressed with obama since he finally interviewed (sucked up to) him. I at least thought the Fox “All stars” could see that McCain wiped the floor with barark at the debate, but no, only this morning Juan apparently saw a different debate than I did Friday night. I am gonna give them up for lost and go back to the HG and Food Network TV channel.
