Few advisers in John McCain's inner circle inspire more loyalty from him than campaign manager Rick Davis. McCain and his wife, Cindy, credit the shrewd, and sometimes volatile, Republican insider with rescuing the campaign last year when it was out of money and on the verge of collapse. As a result, McCain has always defended himeven when faced with tough questions about the foreign lobbying clients of Davis's high-powered consulting firm. "Rick is a friend, and I trust him," McCain told NEWSWEEK last year.
Last week, though, McCain's trust in Davis was tested again amid disclosures that Freddie Mac, the troubled mortgage giant that was recently placed under federal conservatorship, paid his campaign manager's firm $15,000 a month between 2006 and August 2008.

Old lies.
yeah, I hope cowgirl or calgirl or whatever feels really proud of herself if Obama gets in!
That’ ll show ‘em!
$15 grand a month over two years is $360M for services rendered. Raines took $25 million for cooking the books!
*YAWN*
Again, I ask; HOW many MILLIONS of dollars did Obama Campagin employees, Jim Johnson and Frank Raines, former CEOs of FANNIE MAE get when they left the troubled financial giant? They got a golden parachute, right into the Obama campaign!
thats good of you to point out. If you agree with it and are so against McCain then maybe you will be happy when Obama rapes the taxpayers, guts the DOD to extend his social welfare state to the nation. You need to get a clue or get out of America.

It goes on both sides of the aisle. Davis didn’t know about it when it happened and has since stopped
Well, in all fairness, McCain DID get some. It was $862.00 if I’m remembering correctly. That’s eight hundred and sixty-two dollars. Just so we’re all clear on this point. :)
I’ve got a secret...
If any Obama trolls are around, I suggest you tell him to throw his Fannie crew under the bus before Monday.
Trust me.
Is there any ROOM under that bus? At this point, it must be a double-decker, LOL!
That’s $360,000 over 24 months, not 360 million.
I'm not happy when any politician fleeces the taxpayers and promotes destructive policy. Are we only supposed to talk about those acts when advocated by a politician(D)?
You need to get a clue or get out of America.
You need to take your meds.
No, I was gone most of last week so I didn't know that, nor have you provided evidence thereof.
Wow. Not a word on Obama’s much greater connections to Fannie Mae. No media bias there. I bet if the media discover that McCain got a parking ticket in 1960, that parking ticket will be headline news for days, represented as one of the greatest scandals in world history.
What say you, Senator McCain?
This is ridiculous.
These out of touch journalists who clearly have no concept of how the real world works actually think that the fact that Davis’ firm was retained (but did no work) by Freddie Mac while he was not even there is somehow equivalent to 0bama hiring the very Fannie Mae CEOs who brought the whole financial industry down through their fraud and mismanagement — and he hired them after they had committed this fraud and were fired!
Unbelievable! The MSM has not written one single article on just how much money Obama and the democrats have gotten from all of the corporations involved in this mess...nor how democrat policies have caused it...NOTHING!
It is going to be up to the new media to get the truth out to the American people!
Oooh, now that sounds interesting :)
Would it have anything to do with a two word collective noun, the first word beginning with a "g" and the second a "j"....?
