I almost choked when Fox just interviewed a congressman who said that the Dem "bail-out bill" retains the provision that 20% of the money recovered from the sale of crappy mortgages will go to ACORN, a group of career criminals under indictment in multiple states and the leading organized crime group that fraudulently registers voters and commits voter intimidation of Republicans every two years. This suggests there will be no Repub supported bill in the foreseeable future.
“He should have an ad out on that.”
The idiot has suspended his campaign and all ads, remember? He WANTS to lose this election I am convinced.
I was hoping McCain would have mentioned this last night, blaming 0bama and allies for putting it in as an "earmark", which 0bama swore off.
“My fellow Freepers, we have been ringing the phones off the hook in Washington. Good job! However, we are being ignored by the fat cats. Its time for action! How about mass demonstrations in Washington and all 50 state capitals? Thats what we did when Al Gore tried to steal the 2000 election. How about Monday? Who is with me?”
I have emailed my Rep. and Senator, but have not called the Congress/Senate switchboards. Lost my numbers, and know some Freepers provided toll free numbers. Can you post them? Thanks!
Anybody have a bill number for this?
[Its going to La Raza (The Race) also.]
They are the bastards that march in downtown Phoenix, screaming that they are going to take back “their country” and kill all the gringos.
Gonna get bloody folks. Just wait.
What part of “corrupt” don’t Republicans understand ?
‘Why arent the Republicans and McCain screaming at the top of their lungs about this???...’
exactly. They should be on all TV and radio stations talking specifically about the $$ going to ACORN. They should also take out ads. The people MUST know about this!

Barack Hussein Obama -— Community Organizer
snip snip from following article ...ACORN President Maude Hurd .... “Senator McCain failed to acknowledge the trigger of this explosive crisis: predatory lending, which entrapped hundreds of thousands ...”

“On Friday, Sept. 26, ACORN President Maude Hurd released the following statement on the first Presidential debate:
“Given the recent turmoil in our financial markets and the ongoing negotiations around a bailout package for Wall Street, its not surprising that much of the debate focused on the current economic crisis, which was in many ways predictable. ACORN has been sounding the alarm for years as more and more deregulation stripped protections for consumers and basic safeguards of sound lending.
Senator McCain failed to acknowledge the trigger of this explosive crisis: predatory lending, which entrapped hundreds of thousands ...”

“WHAT IS ACORN?
ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is the nation’s largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, working together for social justice and stronger communities.
Since 1970, ACORN has grown to more than 350,000 member families, organized in 850 neighborhood chapters in over 100 cities across the U.S. and in cities in Argentina, Peru, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Canada.
ACORN’s accomplishments include successful campaigns for better housing, schools, neighborhood safety, health care, job conditions, and more.
ACORN members participate in local meetings and actively work on campaigns, elect leadership from the neighborhood level up, and pay the organization’s core expenses through membership dues and grassroots fundraisers.
ACORN has constantly challenged the traditional notions of what a community organization is, and its family of organizations includes two radio stations, a voter registration network, a housing corporation, and several publications.
WHAT HAS ACORN ACCOMPLISHED?
Neighborhood Safety
Health and Environmental Justice
Voter Engagement
Jobs
Living Wage
Schools
Housing

That’s why the DEM Bail-Out-Bill is dead...
ACORN, La Raza and UNIONS!
It’s only a coincidence that they are all DemocRAT “organizations” so don’t pay any attention to that. (The media). ;o)
Would I be correct in assuming that while ACORN was doing all that good community educating, they forgot to tell their clients not to sign a mortgage that was not anywhere near within their means?
There’s plenty of blame to go around, and the people who wrote those mortgages are low down vultures, but the people who signed on the bottom aren’t without blame. Seems like keeping this sort of thing from happening would be *exactly* what community organizers should do, but it’s so much more fun to blame those mean old bankers.
Not one republican will be relected if they let this stand or LaRaza.
On Thursday, Obama was saying that he and McCain agreed that they needed to pass a CLEAN bill with no earmarks, he’s dropped that point from his talking points, now.
CHANGE is all you get from Barack. He just keeps changing his positions on every issue.
A more idiomatic translation of La Raza is Our Race. Sheesh!
Exactamundo! So was Dick Morris. He thought that if McCain did this he would have knocked Obama out and I agree.
“Its more than 20% of the profits from all asset sales. Its 20% of the profits from each profitable transaction. As the portfolio will likely have a significant number of loss transaction, the proportion of the profits allocable to the housing trust funds will be much more than 20% of the aggregate profit.”
I noticed that lagnuage ... AFWUL was my reaction. We could have $100 billion in gains on some assets, $200 billion in losses on other assets, and the bill language would force $100 billion loss on the taxpayer *AND* add on $20 billion bill diverting money to ACORN, for a wallet-grab of $120 billion to the taxpayer. Outrageous!
