ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that 300 retired generals and admirals from around the country are endorsing John McCain for president. The retired generals and admirals announced their support with the following letter:
"We have had the honor and privilege of serving as career officers in the United States Armed Forces, and of serving shoulder to shoulder with so many of the fine young men and women who are the backbone of America's Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. It is that experience that informs our judgment that John McCain is the presidential candidate best suited to serve as America's Commander-in Chief from the day of his inauguration.

Generals? All militaries have generals and half of them lose their wars.
Would be nice to see a picture!
With McCain 08 on it of course!
Dammit, Spock! How come Bender... always has a cooler outfit than mine?
He has a bigger costume budget... Captain.
And Bender is also much sexier than you... since you gained all that weight to play Denny Crane.
No surprise. Great leaders recognize great leadership.
FWIW this former Tech Sergeant endorses John McCain. After I got my professional degree, Jimmy Carter had destroyed the military so badly there wasn’t even a slot for me so I had to say goodbye to the military and go into private practice.
I like your idea, but McCain is not trying to convince conservatives he is the better candidate. Those that think, know that!
He has to convince fence sitters -- those who have trouble making up their minds -- that he is the best. More subtle techniques, and sometines not so subtle techniques, are required.
Two days ago I participated in a focus group to evaluate political commericals. I was invited because I said I was independent (I vote conservative, not Republican) and got to see what the ad writers think will reach the undecided middle. It was very interesting and fun time for me!
Your comment about the fence sitters is right on target. Preaching this to conservatives is preaching to the choir. He needs to get the fence sitters in Ohio, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and New Mexico to come on over. Picking Palin was a savvy idea, but now the handlers need to get her in front of the public and get some of the swing states swinging to McCain.
Well placed antenna, Bender!!
And Horrywood. (A Kim Jong Il version of “Hollywood”)
I recognize a lot of names, know a few, have drank beer with one.
Good bunch a retired officers.
Admiral Gregory G. “Grog” Johnson, USN (Ret.) Best nickname on the list.
