**To each his own, I guess I field dress my deer the other way around. It is nice to have a hoist and a hose though, makes the job much tidier.**
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
“So, get your hat on straight and stop thinking with your soft heart and stupid emotions. God gave you a brain, use it.”
Oh, you misunderstand me. I’m not a Vegan, I’m a hunter. My heart is far from soft. I’m well aware of the issues you raise. But, just as with people, I’m sure that DESPITE the hardships of a natural state, animals would prefer to live free of human intervention. That is of course projection, but to argue that animals are somehow “happier” without the ability to eat, move or procreate at will, and living in human constructs rather than wild in the beauty of nature, seems to me to be obviously wrong.
The manner of death you speak of for wild animals is generally right, natural, and has occurred for endless millennia. Who are we to question nature’s way? And, as I pointed out, the death offered by a competent hunter is every bit as humane as that offered in the slaughterhouse.
You are of course welcome to your opinion. :-)

Sorry for the double post, FR is acting up for me this morning.
I don't think it's a real world problem, but while perhaps practical amongst friends, it's illegal in most (all?) states to sell game.
BTW, you can buy kosher venison, elk and buffalo, pretty much anything that can be farm raised.
He’s a disgrace to the man race!
I pity the fool.
That is the most @ss-backward thing I’ve ever read. I’m gonna go clean my guns. ;)
You are right! They are for infanticide but appalled at wolf-killing.
I think I’ll engage a liberal on that one...

False. All animals are sentient; i.e. ‘have feeling’. They also share the desire to live, and often much else. Well documented in the book ‘When Elephants Cry’.
Beautiful photo.
Thanks for the ping.
Leviticus 11:20 “ ‘All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you. 21 There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground. 22 Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper. 23 But all other winged creatures that have four legs you are to detest.
“Well documented”
How interesting. And in what language did animals describe their feelings to the author?
Perhaps they submitted their replies in written form.
Kosher meat not only comes from an animal, but it is a ritualized method of slaughter practiced by a small minority who exclude themselves from society by custom, appearance, dialect, and religious zeal.
I wonder how Mr. Derfner would react to a proposed ban on ritual slaughter of animals, particularly the Kosher style. It’s difficult to argue that Orthodox Jews represent anything but the extreme minority of Judaism.
So let’s ban it. Lets do away with it. Let’s heap on the prejudice, and ignorance, a la Mr. Derfner, and act like ignorant loudmouths. Kosher meats are ritualized animal murder by religious extremists. It’s okay when Derfner says things like that.
And if anyone has contact information for Mr. Derfner, please tell him that I, a Goyim resident of southern Florida, will be happy to take him to the end of Loxahatchee Road and let him commune with the alligators there, unless he would rather meet the wild hogs on a farm in Martin County.
