Oh, you misunderstand me. I’m not a Vegan, I’m a hunter. My heart is far from soft. I’m well aware of the issues you raise. But, just as with people, I’m sure that DESPITE the hardships of a natural state, animals would prefer to live free of human intervention. That is of course projection, but to argue that animals are somehow “happier” without the ability to eat, move or procreate at will, and living in human constructs rather than wild in the beauty of nature, seems to me to be obviously wrong.
The manner of death you speak of for wild animals is generally right, natural, and has occurred for endless millennia. Who are we to question nature’s way? And, as I pointed out, the death offered by a competent hunter is every bit as humane as that offered in the slaughterhouse.
