Palin Bans Reporters From Meetings With World Leaders (Only TV Crew/Photographers Allowed)
AP (no link)

Posted on 09/23/2008 8:22:15 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

This came down as an "alert" from the AP...the latest whine from the Drive Bys.

Palin, while in New York, is meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday.

The press was told photogs and a camera crew could go in, but no so-called journalists who pretend to be reporters.

Can someone post the crybaby picture?

“...she gives the press limited access.”
Nope. She banned them. that’s not limited; that’s banning.

“That is all they need..”
That’s debatable.

“...and they deserve less.”
Nope. We, as citizens and voters deserve more.

I don’t understand Whoopi’s concerns. Slavery was outlawed by the 13th Amendment. Why pander to a looney tune? It makes it look like she said something intelligent.

Had I been in that chair and not Sen. McCain, (who would never do this, not allow the sound-bite), I would have said to her, "Of course you need to be worried if I win the White House, because, as we all know, when slavery was an accepted practice in this country, all those presidents belonged to the Republican party. Oh ... wait ..."

I guess she really made Greta mad :)

I believe Greta is a Democrat and her husband is some sort of Dem big wig or something.

He is and has publicly endorsed John McCain for President.

-—”Bill Clinton was on the view and made the statement McCain is the only one that can win. After he said it, one of the hens (Whoopi I think) said, you mean only republican that can win, Bill says uh, yeah right or something like that. It was so funny...”

I saw BillyJeff on “The SPEW” with all those fawning hens. He was actually decent for a change, but the fawning of the hens was repulsive. All softball questions from them.

Compare that to the spitfest when McCain and his wife stepped into that hornet’s nest! What a bunch of ugly women (except the only conservative, Elizabeth).

“Woooo hoooo!

Another stolen image!”

Actually, I made this image out of a Sarah Palin press image and the classic Rosie the riveter poster. I saw a small similar version posted here and really was inspired. I was unable to find a larger version for printing with Google image search so I made one.

Here is a link to the full size version. Anyone may use it if they wish.

So are these closed door meetings in which only the insiders are privy?

There was a TV camera crew there. Not very closed door.

Read #142.

I was referring not only to this event, but all closed door meetings involving public officials. I don't give a damn if the press is there or not in this meeting. But if this is not a national security issue, then it should be public to all. Maybe it is, I don't know.

My point is government officials need to be scrutinized and monitored by the American public constantly. There should be no closed door meetings ever out side of national security issues.

The results of these closed meetings with insiders, lobbyist and others with specialist interest are now painfully obvious to all.

No, she gives them limited access. She has granted at least three interview requests. They are not cut off from her campaign rally speeches, and even in this case some were allowed into the meeting. They were not allowed to be disruptive.

“That’s debatable”? Well, I s’pose so. And my position stands. Feel free to tilt at the windmills, Don.

“We as citizens and voters deserve more.”

Heh. Well, tell ya what: you can speak for yourself, not the entire citzenry. If you don’t think you can discover about Sarah Palin with the wide open availability of information available to anyone with a 4th grade education or higher, then you’re a lost soul.

Quit trying to pretend like access to the media is the same as access to the public; it isn’t. Palin’s popularity among the grass roots is evidence enough.

It’s Sarah’s way of telling the media:

Quit thinking YOU are what’s always important; the American people KNOW you are there for YOUR agenda, which is not “reporting”; you are there to put your political slant on things; American’s aren’t listening; GOT IT?????

Well, with the reporters not there, they’ll be able to use conjecture. So, basically the same as them being there! But, oh what a feeling seeing the reporters kvetch.

journalists from the NYC pool have no reason to complain, they get all their info from the kossaks and dummies anyways.

"Isn’t it normal for there to be a photo op and then the parties meet in private? What’s the big deal?"

That's been my question all day. Is it normal for reporters to be privy to private conversations between political leaders? Does anyone here know what the normal protocol is?

I also heard he’s a Mason...

WhoooEEE! I hope you've got your flame resistant undies on. There's a whole passel of Masons on FR. I know, I've crossed blades with them in the past. Smoked me good. I used to BE a 3rd degree Mason but left the Lodge over certain rituals and symbolism I found ... questionable. But I really don't think they're tied into the Illuminati or the NWO like those build-a-burger folks. The CIA didn't run Odessa, that was a post WWII Gestapo/SS scheme. Don't you watch the History Channel or see any movies? Sheeeesh. No wonder you're so ignorant of the ways the conspiracies affect us.
