President Obama tells a joke that is just plain tasteless and nonsensical. Who writes this stuff for him! Obama: "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?" "A pit bull is delicious." First off, I doubt that a pit bull is delicious meat. To say it's "delicious" is probably a stretch unless you have no taste....hmmm. But the second part is the inclusion of the "hockey mom". It's nonsense. How is a hockey mom delicious or not delicious. Has he eaten hockey mom? Is is a metaphor for something negative about hockey moms? Did he just slam...

NEW YORK -- A prostitute working for alleged "Monroe madam" Anna Gristina told investigators she was paid to have sex with former Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards while he was on a fund-raising visit to New York, local news website DNAinfo reported Thursday. The prostitute alleged that she slept with Edwards at an Upper East Side hotel in 2007 and that it was arranged through an Edwards aide with the assistance of a New Yorker familiar with Gristina's network, the report said. An attorney for Edwards issued a statement denying the allegations Thursday and asked DNAinfo to retract the story....

As retailers count their robust preorders for Sarah Palin’s upcoming memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” a small publisher out West says his decision to issue “Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska’s Political Establishment Upside Down” by Kaylene Johnson, was one of his best. The book, an unauthorized look at Palin’s life that begins with her early years in Alaska and ends with her winning the governorship, was published originally in May 2008, by Epicenter Press, based in Kenmore, Wash. Kent Sturgis, president, says that the biography sold 13,000 hardcovers and 80,000 paperback copies. Demand was so great that...

Want to find out about how to shoot a moose or drill for oil in the Arctic? Perhaps even, how a self-styled "average hockey mom" can change the face of American politics? Well prepare to start bidding, as a dinner date with Sarah Palin is to be auctioned online.

President Barack Obama is, by far, the most popular politician in America. And there is little doubt who is No. 2. (snip) That many liberals found Mr. Letterman's remarks humorous speaks not only to their depravity, but to their fear. The 20,000 who turned out to see Ms. Palin in Auburn testify to the fact that she strikes a responsive chord with ordinary people no other Republican does. Liberals and some Beltway conservatives assert Ms. Palin is stupid. She frequently is misquoted -- most recently by Dan Balz in The Washington Post Wednesday -- to make her appear so. But...

In a surprise move that made waves from St. Charles, MO to Belleville, IL, the St. Louis Blues placed former all-star goalie Manny Legace on waivers yesterday, and it's all Sarah Palin's fault. The season got off to a rocky start for Legace. On October 24, he slipped on a carpet laid on the Scottrade Center ice for Alaskan anger bear (TM Wonkette) Sarah Palin, who was there to drop the ceremonial first puck. He missed five games with a hip injury and was never able to regain the All-Star form he showed during the Blues' 2007-08 season. The last...

Here is Beck in his own words. He prefaces it by saying that his view is probably wildly unpopular, but Glenn being Glenn really does not care about being part of the "in" crowd: “I'm endorsing Sarah Palin.” “My hope is in Sarah Palin. Here's why. A lot of people will say, oh, she's too inexperienced. Yep, yep, she doesn't have a lot of experience in Washington. She doesn't have a lot of experience in being a community organizer. She doesn't have a lot of experience in the Senate. She certainly doesn't have a lot of experience sitting there and...

Well, that mean ol' Sarah Palin ruined everything for the St. Louis Blues hockey team, darn it all. That's right the media's newest Cheney replacement must have been planning this monstrous attack on the Blues' goalie for weeks. Her next trick: world domination. At least this seems to be how MSNBC and the Associated Press feel about it all. What am I talking about? Well, Palin visited the Blues' arena to see a game on October 24 and it seems that Blues goalie Manny Legace tripped on the carpet that the team laid on the ice so that Palin and...

The Alaska governor and self-described "hockey mom" also dropped the first puck Oct. 11 before Philadelphia's home opener against the New York Rangers. Demand for tickets for the Springfield event prompted the GOP to move it from a university arena to the parking lot at Bass Pro Shops to accommodate the expected crowds.

Newsbusters: The New York Times took the unusual step of quickly editing and replacing a hysterical post by hockey blogger Lynn Zinser that covered Sarah Palin's appearance at the Philadelphia Flyers home opener where she was invited to drop a ceremonial puck. In her original post Zinser exaggerated the boos by the crowd, attacked Flyers owner Ed Snider for inviting Palin to the event and appears to have fabricated the discomfort felt by NHL players Scott Gomez and Mike Richards.

October 11th, 2008 7:56 PM Eastern Palin Drops Puck at Flyer’s Game Receives Mixed Reaction by Shushannah Walshe PHILADELPHIA –- Sarah Palin has become known as “The Most Famous Hockey Mom in America” for her constant referral to herself on the stump as “just a hockey mom.” This evening, she met that title head on by dropping the first puck of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey season in their opener with the New York Rangers. A carpet was laid down and Palin, dressed in a beige trench, walked on to the ice joined by her daughters Willow and Piper. The GOP...

Booed on the ice It's hard to blame Sarah Palin for her booing on the ice in Philadelphia this evening. It's almost a truism of politics that if you send a pol to a sporting event, he's going to get booed. Politicians, as a class, aren't all that popular, and it's what sports fans do. According to legend, Eagles fans once booed Santa Claus. Still, not a great moment. The Times hockey blog says the boos were "resounding." The Wilmington paper says it was an "avalanche."

Republican vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, second from right, joins Cathy O'Connell, from Erdenheim, Pa., to drop the ceremonial puck between New York Rangers' Scott Gomez, left, and Philadelphia Flyers' Mike Richards, right, before the start of an NHL hockey game Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 in Philadelphia.

I am watching the game and there she is! With Piper and Bristol (or perhaps not Bristol, but the middle daughter- I forgot her name). she looks great! A mixed crowd reaction, but mostly cheering, some boos for sure, but they were drowned out by the music. Hey, people can boo if they want, it's still a free country (for now). It all went off without a hitch. I Love Sarah Palin.
