Corporate India is in shock after a mob of sacked workers bludgeoned to death the chief executive who had dismissed them from a factory in a suburb of Delhi.
Lalit Kishore Choudhary, 47, the head of the Indian operations of Graziano Transmissioni, an Italian-headquartered manufacturer of car parts, died of severe head wounds on Monday afternoon after being attacked by scores of laid-off employees, police said.

RIP. The possibility of incidents like this is why you always need extra security during layoffs. And generous layoff benefits are a good idea.
increases with an Obama instituted marxist society.
Makes you feel good knowing these folks have the bomb, eh?
“A spokesman for the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry said: “Such a heinous act is bound to sully India’s image among overseas investors.”
Ya think.
Note to Indian and Chinese execs. Study US labor relations from the early 20th century and don't make the same mistakes.
Wow that was an incredibly stupid thing to say.
Maybe you should go look up Blair Mountain and some of the battles organized labor has had with corporate execs in our history.
I'll bet it will even make you feel good about us having the bomb.
It could happen in many places in the US, if the CEO is stupid enough to let himself be vulnerable when tempers are as high as they generally are when a whole bunch of people are laid off.
If you can't lay them off, you don't dare hire them!
Where are all the Free Traders on this one?
Cheers!
A lot haven’t heard of the mine wars. I saw pictures from that era that showed a miner’s bed surrounded by sheet iron. If a “detective” tried to shoot the miner through the window while he was sleeping, he’d have some protection.
“Kill what’s killing you...”
Let’s see, yesterday they were killing christians, today it’s CEO’s. I say let’s outsource some more jobs over there, that’ll fix the problem. /s
An example to all of what happens when those golden parachutes get too golden?
Might see this in the USA with a total collapse of our finacial system except the ceo's of Wall street might be the target.
Did this get their jobs back?
On the plus side, they killed the CEO for 20% of the cost of their Italian counterparts.
BTTT.......
A few years ago, I was in touch with an executive who hired armed guards when he went down to Texas to sack employees.
That said, your point about the pitched battles fought in America is very pertinent.
Most don’t even know of the PinkertonsCops vs Labor and pitched battles is no overstatement.
Good reply. So good I waited the two minutes it took to post this (new servers down again?)
Hmmmm, killing the CEO doesn’t look real good on one’s resume.
