WASHINGTON - Nebraska Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel said his party's vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, lacks foreign policy experience and called it a "stretch" to say she's qualified to be president.
"She doesn't have any foreign policy credentials," Hagel said in an interview published Thursday by the Omaha World-Herald. "You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don't know what you can say. You can't say anything."

Since she's not running for PRESIDENT, the contention is ridiculous. I'd say it's MORE of a stretch to call Chuck Hagel a Republican!
Hagel votes conservative much of the time, which Chafee almost never did. But he is also a pompous, self-promoting horse’s ass who seems to have a bit of a problem with US support for Israel over his Arab “friends”.
Hillary knows that another woman can light into her like a tornado whereas a man cannot. Another woman can also see right thru her like she was made of glass.............
Two words: Teddy Roosevelt.
Is Hagel pulling a Biden? LOL!
Is anybody else doubting Hagel is lobbying for a cabinet position in the Obama administration?
yah...like anyone really gives a big rat’s ass what Chuck Hagel has to say about anything. All that’s missing is his endorsement of the Obamessiah.
absolutely....
I don’t even understand why conservatives and Republicans get angry at this guy anymore. He doesn’t represent either of us. He is the one “Republican” that lib-reporters love to publish nationally. If he said, “I love Palin”, then his comments would never see the light of day.
“You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don’t know what you can say. You can’t say anything.”
________
Let’s talk about Barry’s passport. Not the one he has now..........
“Obama is hoping to appoint cross-party figures to his cabinet such as Chuck Hagel, the Republican senator for Nebraska and an opponent of the Iraq war, and Richard Lugar, leader of the Republicans on the Senate foreign relations committee.”

Lord, please shut these morons up.
This rejection of the invitation to a non-partisan event is gonna backfire. It shows everybody just how petty she can be. It would have been better by far to show up and shake hands with Sarah! (I’m gonna use “Sarah!” FROM NOW ON SINCE Hillary uses “Hillary!”)..................
If he had made these irresponsible statements in Israel about their new Prime Minister, Tzipi Livni I wonder what would happen.....part of her resume is that she was a member of the Mossad...on their assasin team....look at her credentials/qualifications.....Sarah Palin actually has more administrative/governing experience than the newly elected leader of Israel. Stuff that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr. no longer a Senator.
I didn't know.
I can think of 15 Republican Senators who could say something that idiotic.
For a minute I was scared; I thought it was a Republican who said this. But it’s Hagel. Never mind....
Obama, on the other hand, is from Chicago, and is in bed with guys like Wright and Ayres. Which is why he understands Putin and Ahmadinejad so well.
"But I do think in a world that is so complicated, so interconnected and so combustible, you really got to have some people in charge that have some sense of the bigger scope of the world," Hagel said. "I think that's just a requirement."
And a community organizer from Chicago understands way more about the world than some housewife whose only experience is being governor of a state the size of Western Europe, and who beat the oil companies at their own game.
Upchuck Chuck - we can’t all be senators, much less as enlightened as the distinguished vaporhead from Nebraska.
We can trade him for Lieberman, or maybe just for a wheelbarrow full of manure.
He must have an axe to grind against McCain.
Hagel is nothing but a Democrat mole.
