July 24, 2007 Tuesday

The following information was released by the office of the governor of Alaska:
Governor Sarah Palin continues her trip to Kuwait where she is meeting with Alaska soldiers. The Governor this morning shared details of her trip with Alaska-based reporters. For those reporters who were unable to participate, audio and photos may be accessed at the following links.

The US military says she crossed the border briefly, and presided over the reenlistment of an Alaska National Guard member. So yes, she did.
It is. It was known yesterday. Then again, the people questioning the truth today weren't on any of yesterdays threads.
I've stepped across the border into North Korea but I would never say "I've been to North Korea".
I think that if Palin did make a quick detour into Iraq but declines to post that country on her punch list then it enhances her image of honesty.
That is still one of my all-time favorite responses.
They would not divulge time or destination of a flight plan for anyone. Otherwise, that aircraft can be anticipated and targeted. That seems pretty basic.
“The areas surrounding Camp Buehring, known as the Udairi Range Complex, are largely uninhabited, but for a few nomadic Bedouin tribes raising camels, goats, and sheep.”
Ah, an Al Qaeda and Taliban sex farm.
I agree with you. Seems like a case of a reporter at the Boston Globe quoting an unnamed source on the Palin staff (as the liberal media is so good at) saying she’d gone into Iraq and then the reporter refuting that statement. Has any aide stated that they were the one who “mistated”?
Palin doesn’t count “crossing the border” as visiting Iraq, probably because if she tried, the media would call her a liar for saying it.
Her campaign aides (I’m guessing some of these are people McCain gave her that don’t know her very well), looked over every place she had ever been.
So at one point that included Iraq. Iraq apparently was a visit about a quarter of a mile over the border.
These statements are TRUE — she has been in Iraq. But, as some people wouldn’t count this because it was a brief border crossing, Palin did NOT include Iraq in HER list.
The media acts as if the “Sarah Palin Campaign Staff” have been with her for months and should get every detail of her life right.
And I don’t know if the particular person they talked to was with her or not. But since she wasn’t a presidential candidate, she didn’t have to run for Governor again for over two years, and she was just picked as a VP nominee about 3 weeks ago, I’m guessing that most of her campaign staff are veterans of presidential campaigning from McCain’s organization.
Which means they would NOT know details, and would simply work off of reports and vetting information — vetting which would have revealed all of her travels, including Ireland and Iraq.
You’re absolutely right. First, Gov. Palin didn’t include it on her list of places she’d been because the DOD asked her not to release that information. That right there shows that she has more integrity than most of the Democratic Congress who would release our deepest national security secrets to score political points. Secondly, if she HAD included it, the media would have ridiculed her since it was “just across the border and NOT like Obama who went to Baghdad”.
I personally, think she did the right thing.
This is stupid. She should go over to Baghdad tomorrow, undercut Baracki, and be done with all this.
what’s the big deal whether she went or not?
People go to iraq all the time. Is this some issue the media stated incorrectly. Its strange that this still has life.
Yep, it is a fact that she went to Iraq. This whole thing is a yawner. This is too easy to prove. It would really be neat if the Army allowed the Blackhawk helicopter pilot who flew her there to be interviewed. Don’t think DoD will allow it though as it inject it into politics. In any case, there is a flight log that documents the mission and there is a tasking order that assigned the mission. McCain, a former Navy pilot, knows it. There is no reason they can’t be made a matter of public record. I think Palin and McCain just letting the dems keep crashing on the rocks with this one before slamming the door on them. Dems are totally ignorent about how the military works.
LOL. Pretty darn good.
have a great day, all, see you tomorrow, or maybe Thursday.

Wow, someone who actually does not blab information that might be useful to the enemy (or the press).
Excellent qualification for someone who would be VP.
First off, of course Canada counts. It’s the socializt country to our north that pretends to be free.
And, her staffers were saying she was still in Alaska when she had already flown to Iowa to accept the invitation.
Are these ridiculous “scandals” resonating with anyone outside the fever swamps of the nutroots lunatic left?
