There's a difference between stepping across the border and visiting, as in spending time, in a country.

I've stepped across the border into North Korea but I would never say "I've been to North Korea".

I think that if Palin did make a quick detour into Iraq but declines to post that country on her punch list then it enhances her image of honesty.

I too have stepped over the border at the Panmunjom site. I don’t know why you would not call this being in North Korea. That’s what borders are for.

Recall that at Four Corners you can touch four states at once.

Not saying she should trumpet this as a qualification but if she went across the border she was in Iraq.
