Dear Mr. Donaldson,
I have listened to an audio recording from a July 24, 2007 Press Conference held by Governor Palin while she was visiting Alaskan troops in Kuwait. At around 14:06 of the audio from that Press Conference, you asked Governor Palin the following question:
"Dave Donaldson-- Governor, very possibly my notes were incorrect, Your opening comments you said you had plans for tomorrow that you are going to be taking a Blackhawk Helicopter and heading North, ah, are you going into Iraq directly?"
Governor Palin-- "DOD has asked me not to say specifically where I am going but just to say I am heading up North. and that was our mode of transportation today along with buses, but ya, tomorrow further North."
In a radio report on July 24, 2007 posted on the Alaskan Public Radio Network website and based on your reporting of the Governor's press conference, it says the following:
"Although the DOD will not allow her to divulge her further travel plans, she says she plans to go by helicopter further North tomorrow."
Since you were at this press conference and heard this answer directly, have you reported any of this recently to resolve the issue in the media? If you have, please send me a link to your story clarifying Governor Palin's trip to Iraq.
If you have not reported the answer to your July 24, 2007 press conference question regarding Governor Palin's trip to Iraq, is it because you and the rest of the media forgot what country is further North from the border of Kuwait?
Let me help you refresh your memory, remember back on August 2, 1990 when a country in the Middle East crossed their southern border and invaded Kuwait? That was IRAQ which is NORTH of the KUWAIT border!!

You should send this to drudge!!
I don’t understand... did she or did she not cross the border into Iraq. It seems like an easy question to answer? The media says that she did not. The campaign says she crossed the border briefly. Which is it?
Sure sounds like she did.

Not sure where the Life Support Area is, but it may not be on the border - or even near northern Kuwait. She could still go up North to a forward base still in Kuwait. And any talk of specific future movements would need to be kept secret.
I’m not sure if one of her campaign folks has been tracked down on the quote about being in Iraq - the only thing I’ve seen about it was an article in some Boston paper saying “a campaign source said she had visited Iraq.....” The paper - or the staffer - may have got it wrong.
Gov. Palin in her ABC interview did not include Iraq as a foreign country that she had visited. (And I’m not even sure - but does Canada count!?)
The other possibility is that the staffer did know that Goc. Palin did go to Iraq but that was not supposed to be told to anyone. But not sure why that would need to be so secret - especially after the fact. It seemed we were getting up-to-the-minute updates during the Obama visit.
I thought it was already known that she went a quarter mile into Iraq?
Sweet! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the precise information.
Somehow makes me feel better that she didn’t include Iraq in her list to Gibson. However, I’m not that shy, and I will still list Hawaii as a state I have visited, even though it was just on a lay-over at the aiport!
Thanks for the info.
Yes .. you most certainly should.
Get the truth out there!

Apparently, they don’t believe a General when he said she went to Iraq a few days ago because CNN was just reporting a few hours ago that she did not go to Iraq which is not true.
Interesting.

Camp Buehring is a staging post for US troops in the north of Kuwait, close to the Iraqi border. Located in the Northwestern Kuwaiti
.
Palin voluntarily went to visit the Troops overseas, without being a Presidential Candidate, I think she’s a winner
Oh, EXCELLENT. I hope Rush and Hannity get hold of this.
