I’ve always been asked for ID in FL and have never lacked it so I don’t know what they would do.

It’s kind of an ingenious law because how many people are going to take the trouble to go back and prove identity? And how are they going to match “provisional ballots” with actual voters?

One year I did early voting my husband planned to stop and vote after work on election day so I told him to look and be sure that no one voted for me, since our names are right next to each other in the rolls. Always on the watch for voter fraud! But no one had used my name.

I am opposed in principle to early voting but did it as an experiment!

You are right about Florida but that does not include the squirrely Palm Beach county. This week they are for the third time since an election in early August, they are recounting the votes. This with a Demon-crat party in control of elections. I feel sorry for our fellow Freepers in that Hell-hole!

“Here in California you don’t need any I.D., can’t figure out why.”

New registered voters must show ID in our county. But then we don’t really claim to be part of California. We vote 68% republican.

ID should be required at every ballot box in the nation.

Here’s a little more common sense: if you’re on welfare of ANY kind, you don’t get a vote. Period. Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin.”

Long overdue and I agree.

“A huge blow to the Obama campaign.”

Damn, they’ll have to move the vote cheating operation to one of the other battleground states. Hello Ohio!

State elections officials will resume enforcement of a controversial state law that requires Floridians to have their identification match up with a state or federal database in order to register to vote.

Several years ago, the New Hampshire Congress passed a bill requiring a photo ID to vote, and the RAT Governor, Shaheen, now candidate for US Senate, vetoed the bill.

Same thing happened in Wisconsin.

Move tax day to October 31, Halloween, apropos.

Require a tax return (or some other indicator) at the poll showing that you’re a net tax payer.

You would certainly raise the avg intelligence of the voter if you required them to be net tax payers, and perhaps even property owners as well.

But then we don’t really claim to be part of California. We vote 68% republican.

Most California counties vote Republican. The ones that go Democrat are the heavily populated counties mostly along the coast. California has 14 coastal counties alone, including the very heavily-populated Los Angeles and San Mateo [home to San Francisco] counties. If I remember correctly, four of those coastal counties, including San Diego, Del Norte, Orange, and San Luis Obispo, went Republican in I think it was the first Dubya election, and in his re-election, I think Ventura County (which is also on the coast) went Republican as well. Not certain, but I seem to remember that. I know for sure that San Diego, Orange, and SLO counties were Republican because I have very close ties to all three of those counties, and it made me proud!

California, like (I was surprised to see, but should have known!) New York, is like the the whole "red-blue" map of the U.S.: overwhelmingly red, with the blue counties in the minority, clustered mostly along the coast, but reflecting metropolitian areas with huge populations. City folks! Or more likely, VOTER FRAUD is rampant in the cities. *sigh*
