Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:
Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."
"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
I do not think this will backfire at all against Obama but it will for sure backfire on our side if we keep pushing it. A hype of emotions and anger on our side of the internet or talk radio means absolutely nothing in the real world. When your emotions will subdue you will realize that it is wrong to go after Obama on this non story. You cannot stop politicians from the opposing side to use the very common expression lipstick on a pig just because our Sarah Palin mentioned lipstick and pitbull in her RNC speech. It is really stupid and sound like a lot of whining.
LOL!!!!!! Put Sarahcudas face on the pic!!! :o)
Obama, you voted 40% with Bush, how new is your agenda really, when 2/5ths of the time you agreed?
“We’ve had enough of the same old thing.”
You’re right.....it’s not over yet...
But I’ve seen defeat in the “enemy’s” face and behavior before...
I see it now.
We will be “shooting” the rest of the bastards in the ass as they’re running from us - rather than the chest running at us....
The worm has turned — it’s now McCain’s to lose and I hope he can stay the course and build upon his current advantages...
You are making FR out to be much more important than we really are.
“If you watch the video, you will see Obama stroke his forehead and hide his eyes when he utters the famous words. His body language betrays that he knows he is doing something shameful.”
Astute assessment.
This video really needs to make the rounds. MSM isn’t gonna run it, and the papers will excuse it away as oversensitivity on our part.
The best thing we can possibly do is get everyone to watch this, to see Obama, unscripted, in his own words, displaying his true form.
Send a version out with both the pig & fish comments. If there is one with Sarah’s original lipstick remark for reference, better still.

When people see it I can guarantee you they will ask, “why aren’t we seeing this on TV?”
This is a sterling opportunity to open a lot of eyes. No need to embellish it with commentary. Just let them see Obama shorn of the pomp and grandeur.
Send a couple emails before you hit the hay tonight.
I am not. I am hoping that the McCain campaign will drop this issue by tomorrow morning, that is what matters at the end.
I missed that.....can you update me?
Lipstick on A Trainwreck
Very funny!!
Bloggers on FR are posting about the issue. The McCain campaign hasn’t said anything about it.
the msm are idiots....they can’t make the case for Obama at all.......the slandering of the Palin family, especially baby Trig was over the top....they have ruined any chance Obama had.....once Palin took the stage it was all turning upside down for obams.....this walk on the wild side that obama made today has backfired as much as anything they have tried against Sarah.
Action news just showed it.They also showed Palin saying her line about lipstick. They said McCain told him to apologize and he said he was talking about McCain. The reporter said this is getting really ugly or something like that. This is getting really strange.Does he have any idea what he just did.
I hear you. You're right. A chief executive, whether in politics, board room or even being chief executive of your own house can and should take advice from "experts", but they bear the ultimate responsibility for the result.
“After this stupid remark the Dems will have to dump Obama and bring out Hillary. I dont think hes going to last until November.”
Makes me wonder just how he’s going to get through the debates.
Could he lose it as badly in an unscripted situation like that?
Could we see Obama come up with some reason as to why he will decline to debate?

I had the same thought. But I heard it more as “pol-a-sah” with the last syllable fading quickly.
Cheers!
