I find it hard to believe 30% of the Hillary! voters will stay with us all the way to November. The good news is we may not need them all.

The McCain camp's "Magic Numbers" are roughly:

92% GOP
18% RAT
45% Indie

If we can capture more than 45% of the Indies, or can motivate more of the GOP base to come out than what we initially predicted, we won't need as many RAT voters. Sarah Palin has helped tremendously on all fronts.

If any of these stats are true it is absolutely game over for Obama

29 percent Hillary supporters!?

If it is just 10 percent, BO loses.

The independent swithc will have a compound effect on polling.

Independents will now start identiying as Republicans. That will boost party identification for Republicans and change mixing formulas for polls toward the Republicans.

Gallup Poll to be released Tuesday shows that Mr. McCain's backing among independent voters jumped 12 percentage points in recent days, providing welcome news for a Republican candidate who has been torn between nurturing his maverick appeal to independents and trying to appease the party's conservative base...

...Compounding Mr. Obama's challenges, about 29 percent of former rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's backers - more than 5 million voters - say they will cast their ballots for Mr. McCain,...

Anyone who needs proof that Sarah Palin has got the libs scared sh!tless need only do this little exercise:

Go to the DUmp:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/

Then use your broswer’s “Find” command to search for the word “Palin”. If you use Firefox, click the “Highlight All” button and sit back and admire the number of yellow boxes on the screen - over 30 of ‘em.

While it may not apply to the DUmp, remember the old adage “there’s no such thing as bad publicity, as long as they spell your name right”.

Independents and Hillary supporters are smelling the roses!

Independents, like uncommitted voters, tend to bounce around like rubber balls. Nothing to be read into it until the Nov. elections. ;-)

who does not believe that Hillary and Bill are absolutely enjoying watch the Obama camaign implode?

They clearly want this to happen.

Hillary is absolutely refusing to pull the trigger on Palin and strongly implies that women can vote for Palin.

about 29 percent of former rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's backers - more than 5 million voters - say they will cast their ballots for Mr. McCain

Wait, wait - according to Axelrod and Carville, these people don't exist. There are no HIllary voters who won't vote for Obambi. [sarcasm]

Actually, I've browsed some PUMA blogs - there are THOUSANDS of them who will vote for McCain rather than the Obambi.

You heard of the phrase “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?” Well, there are a hell of alot of scorned women on the Democractic side these days who want to see Obama take his “messiah” schtick on a very long walk off a very short pier. They are angry and McCain putting Palin on the ticket sealed the deal for many of them. Of course the cuties Trig and Piper didn’t hurt either :-).

From what I've read on a Hillary forum, they'll never forgive 0bama or the DNC for taking the nomination away from their girl -- and not even vetting her for VP. Many are authentically enthusiastic about Palin as well. But the bottom line for them, I believe, is to see Hillary run again for 2012.

The final tickets are set (Biden is getting nervous though) and everything is trending Republican. What kind of landslide puts the house of reps. in play?

Zogby says 29% and 5 million Hillary! voters??

I would take 4 million, which translates into a net 8 million and a monster blowout. On YouTube the pumas made a video called, “We Will Not Be Silenced” documenting the rampant fraud and intimidation by Team Obama in the primaries.

Some women that supported Hillary did so because they were motivated by a woman attaining the highest office in the country. Their politics may even be conservative leaning, but that was the primary appeal.

Others are pro-choice, but don’t consider it a determinate factor when deciding where to place their vote. They could be conservative on other issues.

Then you have people bitter over the primary battle that hate Obama and would rather help McCain win even if it contradicts their philosophical beliefs 100%.

Still others who maybe don’t hate Obama, and are liberal, but the idea of a women being Vice President is intriguing to them. They are the ones most unlikely to vote McCain, but may flirt with the idea and not be terribly depressed if Obama loses.

The last group are rock solid liberals that may have preferred Hillary, but gender would never dissaude them from voting for the Dem ticket.

Palin can capture some of 1 and 2. Option 3 is debatable. I know online PUMA’s consider their ranks strong, but in practice I’m not sure how high it is. Yes, Hillary got 18 million votes. But some of them were men. Some were Republicans just screwing with the system. And the rest divide into the above groups and I’m not certain anyone ever broke down by what percentage in these polling companies.

Yep; the Hillary supporters are still on board.

The latest polls look good, but, my one, great concern is that the Obama camp has a grassroots effort that is registering new voters 5 days a week. The poll that really counts is the one on November 4. I’ll be honest with you; I’m nervous.

The numbers are weird. If McCain has jumped out in front this hard in Indies and Dems (and elsewhere I have seen huge leads amongst catholics and great numbers amongst hispanics), then McCain should be up by 20%. He’s not. Something don’t add up.

The Mav’s speech was dynamite to bringing in Independents. Very stirring speech and easily one of his best.
