Rasmussen Reports conducted five state telephone surveys in partnership with Fox News Channel on September 7, 2008. The surveys were conducted in Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. A total of 500 Likely Voters were interviewed in each state using the Rasmussen Reports automated telephone survey methodology (see www.RasmussenReports.com for details).
The margin of sampling error for the full sample in each state poll is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Caution should be used in interpreting subsets of the data as such results will have an even larger margin of sampling error. It is anticipated that larger sample sizes will be used later in the election season which will allow for a more detailed examination of demographic distinctions.

Additionally, there were state specific timing issues in three of the five states. In Colorado, the city of Denver hosted the Democratic National Convention Colorado less than two weeks before the survey was conducted. In Florida, the survey was conducted as Hurricane Ike was approaching. In Virginia, the survey was conducted the day after Tropical Storm Hanna raced through the state.
It is not clear what, if any, impact these state-specific timing issues may have on the data.

I was wondering where all the people who lost their homes due to foreclosure went.
Mortgage companies have had a field day down here processing foreclosures at an astronimical rate. In fact, I personally know people who were foreclosed on for being 1 day late. While mortgage companies have the right to do that, doesn’t mean they should.
You know, liberals want the fairness doctrine - I have a deal for them. They can have their fairness doctrine on the condition they all move out of the US and give it back to real Americans.
Thanks for the link.
I knew we were ahead in Colorado.
“I dont want primarily a contrarian view as I want an accurate view.”
Where polling is concerned, if the Pubbie isn’t up and the poll was done by Rasmussen, the contrarian view is the accurate one.
If these polls had McCain up everywhere, Ras would be a polling god. But he’s not, so everybody blames the pollster instead of the electorate. After all, their Aunt Sally’s hairdresser’s cousin’s roommate’s best friend’s dog groomer, who ALWAYS votes Democrat, is voting for McCain this time. So there.
I come on these threads for the entertainment.
Are you kidding me??? Rudy and Joe??? Send Sarah for the sake of pete!!! There is a steady stream of volunteers spontaneously arriving at party HQ in our county. Man and woman, they all say they are there because of (and in some cases ONLY because of) Sarah Palin.
Holy carp! Haven't we learned anything? Joe and Rudy? OMG
“Now you see her now you dont.”
?
You’re welcome, but just to be fair the MOE is just as large as Rasmussen’s poll results today.
The front range population is now ~ 50% of the state, we've had some issues jammed down our throats because of it. Also the SE corner went Blue the last 2 elections. Sucks.
I wish you were right about the land o cheese, but Wisconsin is a high fraud state with a very easy voter registration law that encourages fraud. The dems are very good at it and I think Wisconsin will go blue again this year.
That poll was taken before the end of the GOP conv as I understand it. Therefore this one doesn’t make sense unless you look at the MoE.
Yes, but when you are talking about +10 net fav ratings it is NOT easy to lose.
> Last Rasmussen polls shows Barrys 11-point lead in Wisconsin is now down to four <
A bunch of those “great north woods” states ought to be ripe for GOP plucking.
Sarah needs to don her cammo outfit, hang a shotgun over her shoulder, and drive a jeep all thru the backroads of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan’s UP, Maine and New Hampshire.
Moreover, unlike John “I Wanna Get Me A Huntin’ License” Kerry, or Mike “In The Tank” Dukaksis, she’d be 100% authentic in cammo!
“Where polling is concerned, if the Pubbie isnt up and the poll was done by Rasmussen, the contrarian view is the accurate one.”
Quite an assumption.
“I come on these threads for the entertainment.”
That says it all.
I’m holding my breath waiting for you to explain the wild discrepancies I’ve pointed out now to you in multiple posts, including historical analysis. Or are you just here for entertainment?
I’ve met a load of people recently who have now moved here from places like FT lauderdale, Palm beach west palm etc
Most said they moved because of cost insurance and the hurricanes as we don’t get anything like the south part does.
Infact here in St Augustine a 60 foot cross was built near the centre of town and since that has been built we have never been hit direct with a hurricane
Not saying it is God or anything but a lot of people do around here say it.
In this town we had the first christian prayer ever said in this country and we are the oldest city in America.
Our schools are now getting over loaded, trees getting cut down and more traffic on the road, plus I fear that one day our county might get taken over, so far we are very red but fingers crossed
here’s a thought
the north east joins with Quebec and set up their new country maybe minus NH
Now they can have their liberal utopia and we can live in the country we want it to be.
No more liberal judges forcing a law on to us, no more lazy people getting handouts etc etc etc
If that happened what is the betting that their new country would be in tatters in about 10 years, they’ll be in debt, we’ll send them all of our illegals to look after.
I thought McCain was leading in FL.
Joe & Rudy would help in the Miami Dade area but send Sarah to the rest of FL.....
“Lets be honest if HE doesnt he IS toast.”
Yes, but I frame my argument in terms of what McCain needs to do because I don’t want to be accused of offering advice to Obama. You may have noticed that some people around here are a little touchy and quick to impugn peoples’ motives.
Kerry won 251 electoral votes. Obama needs to hold all those, with MI being the most likely to turn red. If it does, I don’t really see him having a path to win. If he holds MI, he has many paths to win. As of pre-convention polling, Obama had two non-Kerry states, NM and IA. With those plus the Kerry states, he wins with 269 electoral votes, since ties are decided by the House, with each delegation getting one vote.
Chris Hayes of “the nation” was on Olberman and they were ridiculing Palin. Hayes was a total san francisco flake.
Next Olberman promised horrible video of Palin speaking in a church.
The attack is clear now.
Ridicule palin then claim the numbers are a fluke.
Oreily in the tank with Obama, CNN just a hopeless cause.
It is now a full court press by all media outlets other than the net and Rush.
Not sure about this, but I believe Rasmussen has been much more accurate with national polling than with his state results.
down in the sotu part of our state is a lot of Jews who will listen to Joe so yes it makes snse to get him here in this state
