When NewsBusters posted the screencap shown here as its Weekend Captionfest on Friday, the result was an outpouring of affectionate reader responses. Typical was this one, from "iveseenitall":
"The ladies in my house instantly fell for this kid. "Oh" and "Oooh" and "Ah". The giggles, the pointing at the t.v. Love all around that night."
The MSM lives in a different house. Check out this candid admission from New York Times media reporter David Carr in his article in today's NYT [emphasis added]:
"In the press galleries at the convention, journalists wrinkled their noses in disgust when Piper, Ms. Palins youngest daughter, was filmed kitty-licking her baby brothers hair into place."

The “Culture of Death” doesn’t understand the simple joys of Life itself.
This sounds like a parody. Why would journalists have any issue with a little girl? This is like a SNL parody. But its real? This is the craziest election I can ever remember.
I would say now is the time to buy, but I think the stock can go much much lower.
Actually it was Gertrude Stein who said that. Gloria Steinem is more than happy to take Mr. Steinem’s (aka Mort Zuckerman) money.
True. Very true.
Agreed. I wasn’t criticizing him, I was passing along is reporting on the reaction of the other journalists.
Correct! One must really be a jaded SOB to be offended by Piper’s care for her baby bro. She wanted the lad to look sharp! That’s what sisters do. But of course this type of behavior is infra dig to those media sophistos. This was precious and unscripted, a beautiful sister cradling her infant brother and tending to his appearance. For every unfeeling idiot this offended there were thousands that were profoundly touched. These people need to get a life.
That little girl is adorable. This is not political. Anybody who is not utterly charmed by her has no heart beating in his chest!
...ewww! Now I’m wrinking my nose!
LOL!
Well, thank you for that, though I remember it not at all. At any rate, all is forgiven and forgotten :)
They hate loving gestures because their parents were absent, physically or psychologically. Who knows how many of them were of the “I wish I were never born” variety?
Actually, one of the books I’m currently reading attributes that quote to Steinem, before her 2002 marriage. Perhaps she was simply parroting one of her deities.
No matter. It is the sick feminist thought that counts, not which diseased feminist uttered it, eh?
Maybe a bit of truth to that.....but some of us really LIKE bicycles.
Or, at the very least, Mrs. Palin.
The MSM need to ake that MRS. Palin's youngest daughter
Same reason they print “Mr. Bush” instead of “President Bush”. Pure disdain.
Sarge: He picked her, what does that tell you about his decision making skills?
