Barry Obama has slipped on his own faith by saying "John McCain has not... talked about... My muslim faith"
Of which Stephanopolous carried the water and corrected him by saying "Christian faith".
I think this is a VERY telling freudian slip by Barrack.
Perhaps all the stress is getting to Obami and he’s back on the crack pipe again. That would explain the deluge of gaffes lately.
Also see #660.
If they edit that, the outrage will be even more believe me.
This has already gotten out and the Wash Times has already written an article on it.
Paraphasing a KOS poster, “Ive been here since the beginning of DKos. Im no plant.
I could as well ask you what purpose is served by putting your head in the sand about this. Obama just lost the election. This is the worst thing he could possibly have said. Its over.
Time to concentrate on the House and Senate races, and pray for McCains good health over the next four years.”
This has them deeply worried.
The haloed one's response was either a freudian slip or a sign of confusion. The correct answer should have ben the McCain has never accused me of being a Muslim. His response that McCain has never questioned his Muslim Faith makes no sense. Steffi's assistance by substituting Christian Faith also makes no sense in the context of the question. Accusing someone of being a Muslim is an active direct allegation.Questioning his Christian faith can lead down many avenues, see how Palin's Christianity is being questioned by the AP.
This flub, gaffe, or admission is important. At best it shows a tendency for the haloed one's mind to lose complete focus, even during vital public head to heads with the media. At the very worst it could show a deception and manipulation of staggering implications.
If he were to be a Muslim, that fact should go unnoticed in this republic, but lies, deception, and manipulation must bring about a reckoning.
They were not discussing religion ... they were discussing negative campaigning
Islam condones lying if it has the potential of promoting the Islamic faith. Lying is not considerer a sin as such.
I don’t think there’s anything deceitful about the video. He goes on to explain himself afterwards, so obviously he did say it and is trying to correct it.
That said, I don’t think it was an admission of anything. But it does make him look dumb and confused.
Also, I don’t really think this is going to have any impact on his campaign. Heck, even if he came out and said he was a Muslim, I doubt that it would affect his loyalists or, for that matter, most of the country.
I call foul. The stress of looking at defeat or coming to the realization that his view of American has been wrong for years while in the middle of running for CIC can cause a person to get nervous and mess up. It doesn't mean he is on drugs.
Pinging myself so I can e-mail this to every one I know. This slip has to get out.
"You mentioned your Christian faith yesterday, you took off after the Republicans for suggesting you have Muslim connections. Just a few minutes ago, Rick Davis, John McCain's campaign manager, said, they've never done that, this is a false and cynical attempt to play victim." "You you, you know what, ah ah, these guys love to throw a rock and and and hide hide uh their hand. Ah, the uh..." "Well, the McCain campaign has never suggested you have Muslim connections." "No no no but but the uh...I don't think that when, uh, you look at what is being promulgated on uh, Fox News let's say, and Republican commentators who are closely allied to these folks..." "John McCain said that's wrong." "Uh, well, uh, look, uh, listen, you and I both now, that the minute Gov. Palin was, uh, forced to talk about her daughter, I immediately said, that's off limits, and..." "But John McCain said the same thing about questioning your faith." "And and what uh, what was the first thing McCain campaign went out and did ... they said, uh, [half-hearted attempt at a mocking accent] "look uh, these liberal blogs that support Obama ... [exasperated sigh] huh ... are out there attacking Governor Palin" ... eh eh eh uh, let's not play games...uh uh er oh uh...what I was suggesting...you're absolutely right that John McCain ... has not, uh ... talked about my Muslim faith....and you're absolutely right that that has not..." "Christian faith" "[stammering] My, my Christian faith ... and, uh, well what I'm saying is that he has..." [crosstalk] "his connections right" "...that I'm, that I'm, that I'm, a Muslim... and I think that, uh his uh, his campaign, uh, upper echelons have not either, what is fair to say is that..."
I defy any fellow brother or sister in Christ to tell me that they would not have reacted vehemently the moment George Steponallofus looked you in the eye and suggested that "you have Muslim connections".
Anyone with half a brain knew exactly what Steponallofus was saying. I ask you again, what Christian solid in their faith would not offer witness right then and there to reject Steponallofus' smear?
The mind reels with how weak this guy Obama is -- character, substance, resourcefulness, everything. Think about this, my fellow FReepers -- Barry could have hit a home run here. He could have put this to rest forever, having simply said,
"George, my faith in Christ is abiding, nothing McCain says or does will ever change that. Freedom of religion in this country, a First Amendment bedrock brought forth by our forefathers -- including my own -- to protect and to practice our beliefs without fear of persecution, even to convert without fear of retribution, is an unalienable right granted to us from God."
But what does Barry do?
"You you, you know what, ah ah, these guys love to throw a rock and and and hide hide uh their hand. Ah, the uh..."
Barry had to be corrected, nay reminded that he was talking about his Christian faith. By, of all people, George Steponallofus. How many Christians here require that kind of a reminder?
Ya'll believe what you want -- and ignore the "57 states", the Soetoro era, the racist preacher -- I know we just won the election today.
Ping.
I watched the entire conversation and nobody is taking it out of context.
It slipped out of Barack Hussien Obama's mouth as easy as pudding does. "You are right. McCain has not talked about MY Muslim faith."
The only way zero would look natural in a barn is on a shovel.
Hmmmmm. Interesting.
They make up stuff. We are just looking at the evidence. There is no high road or low road about someone concealing their intentions. It could have been a Freudian slip, or it could have just been a misspeak. However, I have no intention of ignorring it and moving on. We simply can’t afford that.
Okay, so who knows Hannity, Glenn Beck or Rush? For that matter, even Schnitt likes this kind of stuff.
Perfect for a 527 group to make a commercial of this. Hope the video is saved. I don’t know how to save YouTube video.
You need to go to work for a campaign.
You clearly have no experience whatsoever in politics.
It would be quite an education for you and would help you understand how it works.
Really. That isn’t meant as a put-down to you at all. I just think you might be naive or young and I am just trying to steer you in a helpful way.
