Todd Palin, who could be America's "second man" come January, is slated to attend a large snowmobile event Saturday in Forest Lake, according to an event sponsor.
Palin, the husband of Republican vice presidential nominee and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, is the four-time champion of the famed Tosoro Iron Dog race, a 2,000-mile run stretching across Alaska.

I keep seeing Todd referred to as “second man” or “second dude”. Since the wife of the president is called the “first lady”, shouldn’t Todd be referred to as “first man” or in Todd’s case “First Stud Man!” ?

I think it hasn't been worked out yet. The US really hasn't had a man as a spouse of a VP or a POTUS. So I think the right term has not been developed. Let's make it the job of FReepers to get it right.

Todd Palin could be quite a campaign asset in Rust Belt areas that vote Democratic—he’d fit right in on the factory floor or Legion bar. The same just can’t be said of Barack Obama.
