If there is anyone here at Free Republic that isn’t fully supporting McCain/Palin after last night....I just don’t understand you.
I’m hardly a big fan of McCain’s, as several hundred posts here demonstrate conclusively. But after what I saw last night, I’m not just going to vote for the ticket, I’m going to bust my ass to see it wins come November.
How bout you?
Just made my first contribution to the campaign. I am fired up!
I am our County Chair for McCain and have to admit I was going through the motions because in my State he was going to win, but with Gov Palin on the ticket I want every last vote I can get for the ticket. I am totally energized now!
McCain in 08 could mean that it’s Palin in 2012. Had to feel a little sorry for Romney.
yes, I am supporting the PALIN/mccain ticket.
“Im hardly a big fan of McCains, as several hundred posts here demonstrate conclusively. But after what I saw last night, Im not just going to vote for the ticket, Im going to bust my ass to see it wins come November.”
I’m with you, big time! I was planning on staying home Election Day to polish my shoes since I couldn’t stand McCain. I even stopped posting on FR for quite awhile, because of the grief I got from FRiends. Stopped posting and said I’d be back after the election. Now, like you, I’ll not only vote for this ticket, I’ll campaign and donate again to the RNC, instead of tearing up their requests for money. As for Sarah Palin, YOU GO GIRL!!!!
Although I’m pleasantly surprised by Sen. McCain’s VP pick, I remain unsold on his candidacy. McCain voted for amnesty for illegals. AMNESTY. What difference does it make if we have a great VP when POTUS won’t support the most basic function of government the defense of the borders?
I will never vote for Juan McAmnesty. If he renounces his stance on illegal immigration, I will reconsider my position; otherwise, he will never receive my vote. I’d rather suffer through four years of Obama and vote for Gov. Palin when she leads the GOP ticket in 2012 than give my endorsement to a man who won’t fight an invasion.
Sarah Palin...Duncan Hunter in a skirt !!
A concept which pleases me to no end.
....I don't have to get drunk to pull the lever for him!!"
What you said.

I spent months wondering if I’d bother voting as I really didn’t care for McCain. There’s no doubt that I will now. Picking Palin was a stroke of genious from McCain.
I’ve been for McCain from the beginning. Took a questionnaire early on and he only differed with my point of view on immigration. Other than that, we were in agreement for 70% of the questions.
Anyone who has come face to face with his/her own mortality finds a very deep spirituality emerging from an inner core. That goes for cancer survivors, combat survivors, rape survivors, robbery survivors, storm disaster survivors. You name it. When those things happen, you have the voice of God whispering to you, giving you a strength you find nowhere else and under no other circumstances.
John McCain is such a person.

Well, Badeye, I haven’t forgotten any of McCain’s record, and I expect President McCain will not be a champion of conservatism. And Sarah Palin has yet to prove herself as capable a veep as Dick Cheney, though HER conservatism I don’t doubt. I worry that McCain, after she helps him win bigger than he would have without her, might put her on ice and just use her for ceremonial purposes, rather than giving her a significant role in his administration.
But worrying comes natural to me.
Palin’s speech was VERY reassuring.
So now I will vote for McCain whether or not he needs my vote, even if the polls have him far ahead. I even sent him a 4-figure donation, which I never imagined I could feel impelled to do.

You have to be a complete (Michael) Weiner to not like Governor Sarah Palin!
I’m almost ashamed now to say that I’ve said some pretty crass things about McCain. I won’t back off all of them, but I’ll be damned if he didn’t win my respect and trust tonight.
At first, I was merely going to vote against Obama, but after Palin and McCain spoke to me, I’m all in baby.
I’ve already volunteered to help out the local RNC.
glad you are on board....
i was not sure what to do...in fact, having just moved to California from Indiana, i was not registered to vote...and, i was considering sitting this one out.
then....Sarah...
the day after she was indicated as the VP candidate....
i sent a contribution to McCain...and indicated i was referred to the campaign by Sarah Palin
and...i sent in my registration form.
now, its very unlikely that Palin/McCain will get the California electoral votes....but i want my vote in the national totals...
