Democrats say Palin mimics Bush divisiveness
CNN ^

Posted on 09/04/2008 12:52:27 AM PDT by Chet 99

(CNN) -- Democrats accused Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin of mirroring "divisive" attacks by President Bush Wednesday night and said showed she wasn't qualified to be on the ticket.

"The speech that [Alaska] Gov. Palin made was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush's speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we've heard from George Bush for the last eight years," said Bill Burton, the campaign spokesman for Sen. Barack Obama.

"If Gov. Palin and John McCain want to define 'change' as voting with George Bush 90 percent of the time, that's their choice, but we don't think the American people are ready to take a 10 percent chance on change."

That’s contrary to what a number of pundits said on CNN just after her speech. I counted (4) times they said or implied that Palin “hit it out of the park”. I and my wife were stunned. We purposefully switched to CNN after Palin to see what their reaction would be. Even Campbell Brown (sp) was complimentary.

They are not going to repeat the mantra “Just like Bush” about Sarah Palin and make it stick. Are they dumb or what?

Obama is a completely empty suit. He didn’t even win his Senate seat fairly, using the Chicago Machine to open his opponent’s sealed divorce records to get that man to withdraw from the race. A total commie media creation.

I think Bush could have had a glorious send off if he wanted, but he knew it would hurt McCain. Bush is selfless in that way.

Clinton’s over the top send off upstaged Al Gore and hurt him... and Clinton had high job approval numbers at the time.

Just plain ass pathetic. BTW, just exactly what is the change "they" keep talking about? Why is it no one ever asks them?

Why did GW have to pick a fight with the vast majority of the Republican party and the country on immigration? That was gratuitous, stupid, and elitist. I can fogive him most everything else, but he still thinks he’s right and everyone else is wrong.

That’s hard to forgive. Destroying the party for no purpose.

Now we have Comrade Juan McNuts, and the saving grace is Palin.

GW will be well thought of in the history books. He will be Trumanesque in about 15 years. But that doesn’t mean anyone likes him right now.

What BS. Bush's major communication flaw is his insistence on being so nice to democrats who call him a fascist.

I have a feeling John McCain isn't going to be so nice. MSM would have been better off if they wouldn't have dumped their darling, because he did something they didn't approve of. It will be fun watching the Maverick go after them.

This was a canned response. They wrote this bilge before they even heard Sarah Palin’s speech. This is the product of a moral blindness that has the MSM in its death throes, like a dumb animal sunk in the quicksand of its own making.

But, all the attacks all weekend long on her personal life and family weren’t divisive?

Democrats are really desparate.

Yes, they are dumb. That's always been the problem. They live their lives by the heart on their sleeves and not by their intellect that has advanced mankind. And more people do the same nowadays due to our popular culture that tells them "feelings" is what it is all about. They have a right to "feel" good, no matter what the consequences.

Hey, Joe Biden!

You... Palin... woodshed.

I can't wait to see Palin handing Biden's BB-like balls back to him in a martini.

I knew they'd say that. Any one who saw Sarah last night knows its bunk!

The party that's done everything to undermine civility complains about divisiveness. After a week of trashing Sarah, they suddenly whine about being paid back in kind. BRING IT ON!!!

I watched Brett Hume read that statement from the Obama camp a few minutes after Palin’s speech. He more or less laughed when he read it, saying “I’m sure they will put out something with a little more substance tomorrow.”

I thought it sounded like something that was written a week ago.

I was sick of Bush's "new tone" BS from the very beginning. I WANT to fight back! If the American people can't handle that (which I think they can), then fine. I'd rather go down fighting.

Go Sarah!
