ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Teen pregnancy and drug use are just two symptoms of the decay of the traditional family. It is very difficult to maintain a traditional family structure and avoid the toxic influence of media, Hollywood and pagan academies (also known as communist government schools), if both parents have careers. IOW, if one parent is not willing to make parenting a full-time job, problems are inevitable.
This probably won’t go over well in this forum, but the choice of Palin should present a bit of a dilemma for evangelicals and conservative Christians.
Or have we moved on past such trivial issues as traditional family values?
‘Its the judgement of Sarah Palin to hide this information from US.”
Hide it? She told them in the vetting. She told us today. How long do you think she’s known? Not long, I can assure you. What did you want the kid to do, get on the internet the next day and send you an email?
So it sounds like you’re against McCain regardless of Palin’s daughter being pregnant. So why does Palin concern you if you’re against the ticket in the first place?
“It simply should not have been her time this time... with a new challenged baby to care for, and a pregnant underage daughter... I mean, honestly, dont yall think her plates a little full without being the second most powerful person in the most powerful nation on the planet, with a war to win and an economy to energize? And is it fair to her family? I mean, seriously, think about it. No disrespect to a fantastic woman with a lot of potential, but... lets get real.”
Do you really think she didn’t talk this over with her family first?
I have asked this question of others. Why on earth would a baby who is loved and wanted and has a whole extended family support system be better off placed for adoption? This makes absolutely no sense! Adoption is a very hard decision even for young moms who dont have any support and who arent engaged to the baby’s father. Adoption is an wonderful alternative to abortion. It is not an option for people who want to raise their children. I dont think the Palins care what makes you happy!
> Her daughter will be due around January, right when Gov Palin would be taking office. God forbid anything happens to McCain at the start of his term health wise. I believe in a womans right to work. But being pro family means that your family comes first. I truly believe Gov Palin needs to step aside. Let her son be raised out of infancy. Her daughter married, stable with a new baby, then think about national office in 4 to 8 years.
You are so right. My thoughts exactly.
We need a leader like Palin. A chance like this rarely comes. Now we have a young and strong leader who will be in position to unite conservatives. If she’s tough enough to tackle this race, then I’ll respect her that much more.
I am so glad my parents were not like some posters on here. I didn't get pregnant, but I sure made decisions my parents may not have liked, but they still love me.
I’ll have to admit BOR on Fox was very supportive of Bristol. And he was madder than hell at DailyKos and DU.
Sarah would be VP (a job with light duties) not Pres.
That is WAY too casual a statement, and a very, very dangerous assumption to make. A VP needs to be able to take on the full duties of President should the worst occur, and I’m sorry but with McCain’s age and health history this is NOT a remote possibility. Palin HAS to be ready, Day One, to lead the most powerful nation on the planet. Is she? If she is distracted by the maelstrom of big things going on in her life to the point of not being able to fully helm this country, it is not just she who will suffer but the entire world. Very very high stakes... don’t you agree?
“I believe in a womans right to work. But being pro family means that your family comes first. I truly believe Gov Palin needs to step aside.....”You are so right. My thoughts exactly.”
Oh, my. A mother can’t serve her country? Without the country, there is no family to protect. You’d have pissed and moaned at Dolly Madison for taking Washington’s portrait from a burning white house in the war of 1812 instead of serving dinner to her kids.
WHEN this happened to my oldest daughter someone very wise told me”out of life’s biggest heartaches comes God’s greatest blessings” and I have a wonderful 16 yearold grand-daughter to prove thats right. God Bless The Palins. Denco
The latest leftist crap: The father of Bristol’s baby is a 29 year old man, nicknamed C-Ray, who’s MySpace page mysteriously disappeared. Levi is the unwitting dupe.
That's your opinion and judgement.
Palin is a great pick.
Okay, let's get real.
What kind of conservative attempts to think for a person, make personal decisions for a person or decide what's best for another person's family, then attempts to persuade other people of the correctness of her opinion?
The answer is, of course, that conservatives don't do it at all.
And there are scads of anti-conservative trolls floating around this forum today. They are the ones bashing McCain for picking this woman as his veep candidate.
They are idiots.
wow talk about caving in...that's just what they want
I wasn't excited about McCain either but at least he got the VP pick right
how about rallying around this fine woman instead of giving her the boot back to Alaska...man I can't believe some people around here
“McCain still beats the crap out of Obama and Palin is light years ahead of Biden. ...”
Unfortunately, a relativistic comparison is NOT what conservatives, Christians and constitutionalists should be making.
Bless you for your beautiful letter to Sarah. You are raising your daughters exactly like my daughter raised hers. My grandaughter did get pregnant in spite of her good upbringing but they are going to be ok. Things work out when there is love and support in a family.
I’m glad to hear that about BOR. All the news I got was Katie Couric. You can imagine that syrupy sweet, knife in the back commentary about this. This is getting more coverage than Edwards got...a guy that cheated and continues to cheat on his dying wife.
I’m in the twilight zone.
