ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Agreed! I love the Palin family, period. I’ll stick with them to the end of eternity if need be. This is no time for equivocation and ambivalence. And God bless John McCain. One of his finest days on earth was selecting Sarah. How dare the vile vermin who would hurt this 17 year old. These liberals, who are presumably tolerant and understanding, will stop at nothing to humiliate Bristol and her family. Cowards, abject cowards, without a trace of compassion. Just watch, Michael Moore will attempt a documentary with his cameras in faces and Keith Olbermann will announce Bristol and Sarah as “The worst persons in the world.”
Good clear question. [Brevity is the soul of wit. Sometimes I’m so witless!]
LOL, what a wonderful idea!
Having recently had a granddaughter of my own born out of wedlock, my heart goes out to the Palins. The SOBS who forced this story into the open should hang their heads in shame.
I wasn’t happy that my daughter got herself in the family way (with the help of a cowardly scrub who never even introduced himself), but when she did, I focused on being as supportive and protective of her as I could be, for hers and her baby’s sake.
The Dems disgust me even on good days. Now they’ve just made it personal, and I’m toying with the idea of volunteering for the McCain-Palin campaign.
every candidate is going to have a wart...Roger Clinton,Reagan's kid,Billy Carter,etc..
What I want to see is Sarah stand tall and take this crap on and do not flinch to these bastards...
She's got a lot to offer to the Republicans and could be our Margaret Thatcher.
this attack on her will only intensify in the next couple weeks-she ain't seen nothin' yet
Why are you asking? Are you letting your teen girls go out alone with boys? Any of them get pregnant? Perhaps you let your son(s) go ut with girls alone and your son(s) got a girl in trouble.
Its simple biology as my pastor says.. "You take two healthy young people and put them together alone, and next thing you know a baby is on the way." Common sense says that you should never even take the chance. Keep them separated.
You should think before you ask silly questions. Common sense should be your guide at all times. You are very foolish if you think teens with raging hormones can keep a bottle on sexual drive forever. Common sense says to keep them seprated. It works every time its tried.
True. And that's a real tragedy.
Bristol Palin's response, however, is something to be happy about.
Remember what happened to Michelle Malkin recently? I can’t say this is similar. But it’s tempting.
There are several country songs about it, at least, sort of. Carter Family, “Single Girl, Married Girl,” and Loretta Lynn, “The Pill” and “One’s on the Way” come to mind.
And by that I meant, lots of country songs have addressed issues of gender, marriage, childbirth, kin and hard choices - probably none so much as Lynn’s.
I may be partial though.
“But here in Topeka the flies are a buzzin’
The dog is a barkin’ and the floor needs a scrubbin’
One needs a spankin’ and one needs a huggin’
Lord one’s on the way”
Props to Shel.
God I love this woman even more..

For whatever sin some want to condemn this girl over, I think she’s getting punishment enough by the media. It’s disgusting that everyone is so twisted out of shape over it. There are MUCH more important things in the news.

BUT OH MY! A 17 year old is pregnant......and everyone notices!
If you really want to make a difference, sign up to watch the polls (or work the polls if they need a republican representative). The rules differ by each state, but contact the state parties about poll watching or poll challenging.
With my background, I signed up for the roving legal team working to back up some of the challengers and keep an eye on things. I want to make sure they don't break the law.
Common sense says that you’re welcome to try to keep teenagers separate, but they do this thing called ‘rebellion,’ and they sneak out. But what do I know? I’m just a father of teenagers, with the white hairs in my beard, and the scary memories to prove it.
I first suggested Sarah Palin as VP a FULL year ago....

Of course at that time I wanted it to be Duncan Hunter/Sarah Palin
ROFL!
Just to chime in, since I haven’t done so yet, “So what?”
Gov. Palin’s daughter isn’t running for VP. Her daughter has done what so many other young people her age do. The democrats are aghast, and want all to be, because of their default pro-death view and that the daughter didn’t automatically abort the baby. How dare the Palins bring another life onto this injured and oppressed planet, using its resources up? That’s the reason the dems view this as “dirt”.
I don’t see life as a “mistake”, nor is my default view that abortion should have been the obvious course. If you realize where the dems are coming from, their pro-death outlook, then this isn’t a scandal at all.
And I use lol as Lord oh Lord, help me. My adult children had to tell me it means laughing out loud and I told they not in my book!
