Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden was quoted Monday as telling senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran.

In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he opposed "opening a additional military and diplomatic front."

It appears that Biden is the first one to stand up and point out the obvious. This is a far cry from “bomb, bomb, Iran.” This statement needs to ring loud, and most people in the U.S. should stop fearing to say so. Iran seeks nuclear power as an energy source; Israel went behind the world’s back and produced nuclear weapons; have yet to officially acknowledge there existence; nor is a party to nuclear treaties Iran is willing to be party to. Biden has a dubious history vis-a-vis Iran. He voted (along with Obama) against the bill to declare the Revolutionary Guards a terrorist organization. He receives support from various pro-Iranian, pro-Mullah organizations in the US. After 9/11, he was quoted as suggesting, in a Congressional meeting, that the US send a check for millions of dollars to Iran, as a way of building up support for the US among Muslims.
