We need a Statue like that in this country as well. Somewhere very visible.

Speaking as someone who is not a Christian or religious, I think that's a great idea - as long as the funds come from private donations, as in Poland. Most Americans are Christians - public tributes to the religion they practice would be a good thing.

Can you imagine the fallout from that if they do that?

Never hear the end of it!

Not exactly. I think it depends on the nation.

The good example for that is Germany. In West Germany that was free from communism, religion is still present while the Eastern part of Germany (former GDR), is almost totally atheistic.

In comparison to this, Poland looks like an island where 95% of Poles, being asked, declare the Catholic faith, whereas some 80% practice the faith. According to independent polls, some 42% of Poles attend the Sunday Mass every single Sunday.

I seem to remember that Bavaria remains fairly religious (by European standards), while the northern states are not.

How about overlooking San Francisco? That would drive the spawns of Satan wild.

Or right in the middle of Fire Island? The sodomites would burst into flame.

My thoughts exactly! What a view to all those leftist EU officials driving the A2 highway to Warsaw.

I hope they won't be causing car accidents because of it :-)

With a last name that ends in “ski,” I earnestly second your comment.

===Good thing Poland doesn’t have an ACLU.===

We have, we have communists - orphans of the former Soviet era times! They hate religion as a devil himself. However, their problem is that Christian parties in the Polish parliament take altogether 90% of the seats, so with their "power" they can only bark at the moon, and that's all.

The cross of Christ in the Polish parliament next to the national flag:
