I have to vote for John McCain, whether I want to or not. Staying home or voting third party/write-in would be disobeying the oath I took on June 12th, 1978 to protect and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic. You must do what your conscience tells you is right.

You must do what your conscience tells you is right.
I appreciate your thoughts, but my family and I are doing what God says is right. We refuse to support any candidate that has policies that shed innocent blood in any way.
Barack Obama is a pro-abort.
John McCain supports embryonic stem cell research.
Therefore, neither one will be receiving our vote.

Keep whining, maybe McCain will get it into his thick skull that there is absolutely NO reason to have A pro-choice veep.....none at all, and one HUGE reason to have a pro-life veep, even if the veep has no influence on the abortion issue.....and that reason is.....:ABORTION IS MURDER!
Also the author’s premise is wrong, you can’t convince people that abortion is wrong as long as it is legal. Legislation IS the answer, and the ONLY answer.

Why should I vote for a traitor to my cause?
He’ll deliver half of what I want and I should be grateful?
John McCain has stabbed conservatives in the back for years and we are suppose to accept the lesser of two evils?
If John McCain wants to outrank his father and grandfather, perchance he should stop stabbing me in the back and realize he should be supporting me.
His choice for VP will tell me if he has grown and accepted reality.
Otherwise, hello President 0bama.

I urge you to reconsider. I agree that McCain's position on embryonic stem cell research is inconsistent (to put it mildly), but McCain would appoint judges who are much more likely to protect (most of) the unborn than the judges Obama would appoint. To paraphrase Voltaire, the best is the enemy of the good.

McCain’s mother pointed out (laughing about it) that conservatives have no choice but to hold their noses and vote for her son. I have the benefit of living in California and can withhold my vote for McCain without it causing any difference. I will vote for conservatives and only conservatives in the upcoming election.

So to conservative boneheads out there Attacking conservatives but yet demanding that they vote for your RINO. Brilliant strategy there.
If McCain chooses a pro-abortion VP, I'm staying home.

Realize that the average age on the U.S. Supreme Court is currently 68 And Sen. McCain will be 72 on Friday. He's already lived out his natural life expectancy. His vice presidential pick has a very realistic chance of being the next one to make a SCOTUS nomination.

Obama and his crew have done the impossible for me and made McCain into someone I'd vote for again. However, McCain could reset my voting mechanism back depending upon his choice for VP. If he picks Huckleberry, I won't be able to vote for them regardless of how much Chuck Norris likes the Huckster and even if that means President Obama and Vice President Biden.

You must do what your conscience tells you is right. Mine tells me hat I can't vote for a pro abortion candidate. I truly hope McCain dooesn't challenge my conscience.

This post and the thousands like it shows where the whining is. Yep, it's the same-old scare tactics. Conservatives don't march in lockstep with their party like libs do. We are independent thinkers and can't be herded like cattle. That's what pisses off the GOP establishment and their sycophants.
This election is McCain's to lose.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
the lesser of 2 evils is necessary. do not sit at home. you sit at home, you get Obama, imagine the spilling of National Security secrets all over the middle East with that tool in the POTUS chair. At least with McCain we are getting a soldier, and a true American, and we know he won’t allow partial birth abortion.T he abortion issue may not be resolved in our lifetime, but we must start by getting our foot in the door. How do you think Dummies get their way? They have had Decades of legislative chipping away. Now we must put the chips back in place... and it isn’t going to take 4 years to do it.... but it’s a start.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
"The only way to meaningfully decrease the number of abortions is to convince people that abortion is a bad idea, not to legislate."The real difference between liberals and conservatives is the way they view the balance between what the legislature controls and what the culture controls. That balance changes, predictably toward liberalism throughout the life of a republic, hence its predictable lifespan. It also explains why some formally rock-ribbed conservatives are shilling for McCain. We live in interesting times.
