McCain’s mother pointed out (laughing about it) that conservatives have no choice but to hold their noses and vote for her son. I have the benefit of living in California and can withhold my vote for McCain without it causing any difference. I will vote for conservatives and only conservatives in the upcoming election.

More elitism from the delusional McCain family.

That was Bush 41's reelection strategy as well.

Of course he lost what should have been an easy reelection.

Spot-on. I left CA for just that reason: I was exhausted working to restore the republic in the face of democratic socialism. Now I live in NC, where every conservative vote counts heavily. The state is currently leaning perhaps by 10 points to McCain, but there’s plenty of time for the western mountain folk and those delirious types up in Durham, Orange and Person counties (not to mention the fine seaside folks up around Hyde) to remember what day the election is on and take the action I need to counteract. This state is currently one of the worst-taxed states in the South and maybe the nation. It has lagged behind neighbor states as a result (though the schools do look like temples: every junior high has a fully-functional football AND soccer field with basketball gym to match). This is prime territory for Dems to convince people to stop hedging and go the whole hog. Since the gov’t is so deep into their pockets already, why not jump on board the socialist train and grab back some of the cash? It will be tempting and the smart Dems around here will try it.

Here’s hoping they’re as dumb as the box of hammers they otherwise so closely resemble. So far, they’ve lived down to every expectation one could hope for about the banality of evil: short-sighted, slow-witted, tin-eared and insensitive. One of the most memorable local ads featured two old guys (one of whom I personally know) chatting up Kay Hagen’s advantages on a typical NC porch. Trouble was, the porch was in fact a business (signs left in sight) and the owner, while a Democrat, is committed to Elizabeth Dole. Any friend would instantly recognize the location and turn to her in considerable doubt. She protested and I think the ad has now been pulled, but you get the idea: NC Dems run the place only because NC voters are too traditional to change horses in the middle of a millenium.

Country-club liberal Rockefeller RINOs always have this attitude. This is one of th reasons why conservatives despise the country-clubbers. As long as we go along with it, country-club liberal Rockefeller RINOs are what we'll continue to get.

Fortunately, in California, you have a genuine conservative on your ballot, on the AIP line, in Ambassador Alan Keyes. He's comprehensively conservative, across the board, on everything.
