I'm sure there are some snake-handling hillbillies around it would be so much more PC to make fun of.
I’d say it’s a safe guess he wasn’t a Wise Man.
I believe we have a winner!!!!!! (2008 Darwin Award)
Definitely a 2008 Darwin Award nominee if not the winner.
He wasn't worthy.
Very true, but the first word of the article does -- Bangladesh
All religions arent the same and dont deserve to be lumped as the actions of others.
That is also very true. Despite what some people here on FR seem to think, I have never said nor thought any thing of the sort: in fact they falsely accuse me of thinking and saying a lot of things I have never in my life thought nor said.
Bangladesh, which is 90% Mohammedan. Most of the rest are Hindu and I can believe a Hindu trying to get a blessing from a primordial reptile. Hindus as a religious group are very devout and take their faith seriously. There are some native Bangla animist pagans in the country and up north. Beautiful people but very strange.
I can believe it. Bangladeshis will jump in the water with all kinds of critters. You see their kids riding Water Buffalo all the time. Many of the blind kids begging in the cities lost their eyesight to aquatic parasites.
If you are there during the monsoon season, in the south especially, you find the natives in water all over the place, doing all kinds of things. Trying to scrape out a living. No other choice.
My favorite reply from the thread that got axed:
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!
Lewis Carroll
Crocks are athiests?
Who knew.
That croc is a devout Muslim.
(You are what you eat.)
The man had insufficient faith. ;-)
“That pic gives a new meaning to finger foods.”
