PORTLAND, Ore. - Most states don't recognize gay marriage but now Hallmark does. ADVERTISEMENT The nation's largest greeting card company is rolling out same-sex wedding cards featuring two tuxedos, overlapping hearts or intertwined flowers, with best wishes inside. "Two hearts. One promise," one says. Hallmark added the cards after California joined Massachusetts as the only U.S. states with legal gay marriage.

Really? See, I don't think that's Hallmark's motive at all. I think Hallmark's motive is making money for Hallmark. I don't think they care about gay marriage one way or the other.
Thanks for posting the contact info, Ice. I called them and gave my input...they are getting a lot of calls on this.
Their website is pretty bulletproof (prevents you from contacting them by email) but I did find 2 emails after searching for a while....
Their CEO is Donald J. Hall
It’s just capitalism. If there is a market the goods will be provided. If not Hallmark then somebody else.
Hallmark provides cards for a number of occasions that don’t apply to me, but I don’t go hysterical over it. Some people around here need to get a life.
that is your view , fine but I do not want to go into a store with my kids and see pictures of two men holding hands or cards dedicated to homosexuals etc.
Homosexuality is disgusting and not normal nor natural doing nothing only gets the perverted and their supporters more of their own way
As for getting a life ,so because some do not agree with a company pandering /accepting homosexual marriage and they let that company know their views they need to get a life,
aye alright.
Remember that when you do not agree with something and feel your view should be aired
yes if it isn’t Hallmark then someone else, you are right but if enough make a noise other companies will not pander to homosexuals.
What will hallmark do when proposition 8 passes?
If this was a company which sponsored conservatives they would have been crucified for any protect marriage conduct.
Note, not one mention of FL passing a constitutional marriage amendment this upcomming november.
No mention of the California nixing homosexual based marriage.
It’s called freedom of expression. If you don’t like it you are free to go elsewhere.
WOMEN LOVE IT WHEN A MAN MAKES THE CARD FOR HER!
I can only imagine what they say....
And every year I see fewer "nativity" / religious Christmas cards, and more "happy snowman"-type secular Christmas cards. What's happening to our society?
Excellent response(s)!
Excellent!
[insert what southpark said they would be called instead of marriage] til boredom...
I’m a hospice nurse and I had a patient who was a pastor, professor of theology, dean of students, poet and on and on...artillery officer in the Phillippines in WW2...
on Mother’s Day he made a card for his wife, pictures/drawings of flowers, a poem...he died on July 4th.
What a beautiful card that is, (I know she saved it) and what a wonderful human being.
I work at the local boyscout office and our donations have fallen off dramatically.
Please guy, help out the Boy Scouts, one of the last institutions that have the spine to stand up for marriage and non gayness.
Thank you for your dedication.
The United Way is on my *hit List for their desertion of the BSA.
And
I have taken this one step further.
Anytime there is an NFL ad for the United Way, I send a letter to the NFL player(s) in the ad and advise them of why I do not support the United Way and ask them if they would care to reconsider their support of it as well.
American is growing more secular. The fastest growing creed in the United States is the non-religious.
The only greeting cards I purchase these days, and that is rarely, are dollar store cards, but now I will have to check the manufacturer.
It seems that most all major corporations and media groups are on the side against Christian morality; I guess that’s no big surprise, eh?
It may not be their motive but it really doesn't matter. They are de facto furthering the homosexual agenda by introducing new elements at the margin into society. This is a conscious decision contrary to the commands of the Bible. All shall be judged by the fruits of their actions. God is not going to say (to the people on the Hallmark Board of Directors and others who made this decision) "Oh you did this primarily for the profit so I'll give you a pass".
and there are alot of greeting cards made by Christians, and I find that there are good ones at the dollar stores.
They know the decision will cost them a hell of a lot of business, so I’m not so sure there aren’t other motives at work.
Most Hallmark stores are independently owned. It would be interesting to see if many of the owners will refuse to carry the cards. Unfortunately for them, it won’t make a difference as far as I’m concerned. I won’t send any money up the chain to the company.
Oh, I disagree. Even the most cursory marketing analysis would show this as a bigtime loser. A card for a highly unusual, presumably one-time occasion, aimed at a tiny fraction of a tiny fraction of the overall populace is not a moneymaker. Unless they figure on gag-gift sales to boost sales, they can't even be planning to come close to breaking even on this, much less make a profit.
