These shirts are part of a massive visibility campaign aimed at helping Obama win. If you can, chip in to help cover the production and shipping costs, and support our campaign to get him elected President.

They were selliung lawn signs in Virginia as well. The article was based on one person's reaction in Minnesota, but I'm sure it's nationwide. I doubt a campaign would allow one (or a few) headquarters to try and make money that way when everyone else isn't.
As I just posted to another, it'll be interesting to see how many Obama signs pop up in our little burg after the convention; in relation to previous elections. This is Northern Illinois, a Democrat state, but we're rural and a Republican area.

I think the idea is to deplete the Obama campaigns resources by ordering a free t-shirt that you are never going to wear. Not hardly. Look at the link; it's MoveOn.org.

Even IF the shirt is free, there's still a cost to be paid, in the form of having your name and address on a MoveOn.org mailing list. Better use a clever pseudonym and a P.O. Box.

OBAMA T-SHIRT DISPENSER

You know, if enough middle-aged white guys who work for a living were seen wearing these things around, it might make Obama look so establishment and “uncool” it could eliminate his entire “youth vote,” which is based entirely on the myth that he’s anti-establishment and “cool.”

My “free” t-shirt is on the way, I needed a new rag for the dogs, I hope it breaks them.

I hadn't noticed the "A"'s leaning on the "M". It makes "AMA" stand out? Is he courting the doctor vote here? That is a distinct possibility because, if he is allowed to destroy our health care system, lots of docs will be earning poverty wages -- if they can find any work at all.

I hearby pledge my sacred beer-gut to the cause!
I noticed a funny thing about this image...
It is a floating face, since the back of Obama's head and his neck blend into the background. It looks almost like a Hallowe'en mask. All you would need to do is connect strings to the ears.
Which is, actually, a pretty good metaphor for Barack Obama himself.
