The following account demonstrates loudly the hypocrisy of the pro-abortion camp and the violence that its minions resort to when confronted with the truth. The abortion mill in question is the last one standing in the city of Birmingham and has been operating for over 20 years. It is currently under investigation and several botched-abortion deaths have occured there over the years. The vast majority of its clients are African-American. The owner of the mill often shows up driving a Hummer or a Mercedes Benz wearing expensive clothes, and a fur coat in the winter. Think Cruella DeVille of 101 Dalmatians.
My husband and I arrived at the New Woman All Women abortion mill located in Birmingham, Alabama at around 8:30 AM on August 9, 2008. We had four protest signs with us. I held one sign and we placed the other three near where we were standing on the patch of ground in front of the trees and shrubs. The sign I held read "ABORTION = RACISM WWW.BLACKGENOCIDE.ORG" The three signs we placed on the ground nearby read: "WOMEN KILLED BY LEGAL ABORTION (with a list of names underneath)" - placed one foot away from me and my husband "THE ABORTION INDUSTRY IS REPRODUCTIVE RACISM" - placed three feet away from me and my husband "ABORTION HURTS WOMEN AND MINORITIES" - placed one foot away from me and my husband On site with us were three sidewalk counselors who also had protest signs. There were two clinic escorts standing in front of the abortion facility who saw us arrive and set up our signs. One was a woman who is there most Saturdays named Carol. One was a young woman whom we had not seen before. As we prayed quietly, both escorts shouted at the sidewalk counselors whenever they tried to talk to clients entering and leaving the facility. Carol repeatedly shouted "Christian bully!" and the young woman also made a number of anti-Christian remarks. Carol has always shouted anti-Christian remarks, such as "Christian bully!' and "Kick'em when they're down, that's what Christians do!" in the ten months that we have been going to the abortion facility. We have clips of her doing this on video. Carol and the young woman were also dancing mockingly to the radio which is always played loudly whenever anyone comes the the facility to pray or counsel. Once the young woman purposely bent over with her back to the male counselor as he tried to share the gospel with her. She was wearing very short pants, so it was clearly meant to be a lewd gesture.
Meanwhile a young man who works at Al's Restaurant was harrassing us incessantly and making anti-Christian and anti-Catholic comments. He often stood next to the escorts and joined them in mocking us. He accused the male counselor of being a homosexual as well as other insulting comments.
After we finished our praying (an hour or so), we stepped about two more feet away from our signs and prayed over one of the sidewalk counselors, who is ill at this writing. As we prayed the escorts loudly made mocking comments about the fact that we were praying. Immediately after we finished doing this, the young woman ran accross the street and grabbed the sign which read, "THE ABORTION INDUSTRY IS REPRODUCTIVE RACISM" and threw it into the trash can located in the patio of Al's Restaurant, directly behind where I, my husband, and two counselors were standing and less than a foot away from us. I and several sidewalk counselors told her to stop as the sign belonged to me. One counselor followed her into the patio and was standing right beside her. She ignored us, talking the whole time about it being her duty to throw the signs away and then grabbed the sign which read "ABORTION HURTS WOMEN AND MINORITIES" and bent it and threw it into the trash can. As she was doing this, we repeatedly told told her to stop and that the signs belonged to us. She was grinning as she performed these actions and made comments to the effect of we had no right to have these signs up and that it was her business to discard them. The young male restaurant employee told the escort that he would tell the police that the wind was responsible for blowing my signs into the garbage can (!) even though he saw along with everybody else that she was the guilty party.
I immediately dialed 911 (at 9:41 AM) and explained to the dispatcher what was happening. The escort then ran back accross the street to the abortion facility. She was rewarded with cheers and a big hug from Carol for commiting this criminal act. She saw me with my cell phone and grabbed her purse and sat behind the giant black and red curtain that was set up in front of the building every Saturday to block the view of the sidewalk counselors.
About 10 minutes later, a police vehicle arrived. I waved at the officer and he slowed down in front of us. I only managed to tell him that the escort had taken my signs and thrown them away, and he answered something like, "Okay, I'll be right there" and then to our surprise, pulled into the parking lot of the abortion facility. He remained parked in their lot as he spoke with the young woman. The the owner of the abortion facility, Diane, came out of the building and spoke with the officer. About ten minutes later, the escort walked over to the edge of the sidewalk facing us, and triumphantly waving her hands over her head and smiling, shouted at us, "I'm not going anywhere!" and something to the effect of, "If they're on the ground, its okay!" She made these comments within five feet of the police car so the officer must have heard her.
Then Diane came over to the edge of the sidewalk and also shouted at us, "If they're on the ground, its okay!" The young woman went back to the police car and was leaning into the window as she chatted with the officer, who had not left his vehicle. We waited another ten minutes. Still the officer did not come over to take a report from me. Realizing the officer wasn't going to talk to us, my husband and I picked up our things and left. A we drove by the abortion facility, we heard the escort, who was still standing next to the police car, shout at us "Bye bye!" in a sarcastic, mocking voice. When we came home, I called the police station and asked to speak with a sargeant. I explained to him what had taken place. He took my name and phone number and told me that he would get back to me when he found out who the officer in question was. I waited all afternoon and did not hear anything. I called the station again and spoke with a different sargeant. He informed me that I needed to come down to the station and file a report, which I did that day. The officer who took my report asked me if the officer at the scene of the crime spoke with me after speaking with the people at the abortion facility, and I told her he had not.
What is noteworthy is that I had just created the two signs that were thrown away. We had only brought them to the abortion site on two previous occasions. The signs we had brought previously for several months made no reference to racism. There were also other signs that were on the ground that the escort did not choose to grab and throw away. As I am a member of a minority group (Asian) and the signs referenced racism it greatly concerns me that I and my signs were targeted.
Also of note is that I was told by a counselor that the police officer who arrived on the scene is pro-abortion. She was not surprised that he acted in the way he did.
I never managed to get the name of the cop who answered my 911 call. I tried several times, with the officer at the station angrily hanging up on me during my last attempt.
too bad kicking the crap out of people who annoy you isn’t part of the Catechism.
Abortion is truly life threatening... 99.99995% end in at least one death!
I wonder how many of his girlfriends Mr. Busboy has sent over to the abortuary.
He claimed one.
LOL! I agree.
And I forgot to include: Mr. Busboy claimed to be a Muslim, yet he was lusting after the white blonde-haired attacker escort, who was hardly observing Sharia law in the dress code dept. And he stupidly claimed that there are “no homosexuals” in his home country in the Middle East (didn’t catch which it was). Sounded like he was quoting a certain Iranian dictator. Anyone who’se been to the region begs to differ!
Hi,
Great work! I guess don’t let your signs touch the ground... is this the clinic that’s off I-65 downtown?
I believe it’s quite Christian to whip ‘em...
And when He had made a whip of small cords, He drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; John 2:15
And just exactly how does this equate to Bull Conner and racism in Birmingham Al.?
I no regard for abortion and those that participate in it, and even less for people who dredge up ghosts of the past to make some weak claim of abuse while performing acts of “ righteousness”.
Doing good has it’s own rewards. Being seen or “abused” while doing good means nothing at all, except to attention seekers and Pharisees.
The NWAW director was at a city council meeting last year that I attended. Probably in the June-August timeframe.
Those city council meetings are video-taped, and I’m fairly certain that they are online now. You should watch through them in that timeframe to see him request that the city pass new laws forbidding people from praying in front of that abortuary.
For one thing, if you’ve never gone to a Birmingham city council meeting, it’s a trip. They open with a prayer, often sing hyms during the meeting, and close with a prayer on occasion. Pastors speak in front of every Council meeting...and are lauded by all of the elected Counsilors.
Which is to say, only a carpet-bagging New Jersey union goon (hint, hint) who knew nothing about Birmingham’s culture would be so obtuse as to walk in and request that the Council ban praying on sidewalks.
And so he did. He was then shunned.
Work with the Birmingham churches on this matter, especially the Black churches. Abortion is **extremely** unpopular here in Alabama.
If you can find *legal* grounds for the city to declare the NWAW abortuary a public nuisance (e.g. loud music, attracting the wrong crowd, constant crime, etc.), then the Birmingham City Council would be a favorable audience for pulling their business license (city issued).
But first, you need to learn more about who you are up against. He ain’t local, either.
Thank you for sharing this.
I know Diane Derzis. She is a disgusting pig.
Bull Connor was a racist bully who abused his position of authority to oppress a group of people, especially those who opposed him. The pro-abortion racist bullies regularly use violence to intimidate pro-lifers. See Margaret Sanger for the racist connection to abortion.
Esxcuse me? Weak claim of abuse? You need to read this again. There were several abuses mentioned, Pharisee.
Thank you for this info. I’m kinda new to the area.
Its the one near UAB, on the corner of 17th St. S and 11th Ave. S
I wouldn’t expect any sympathy, or regard from the BHM cops. When I was there for a pro-life march a few years ago, the pro aborts were yelling every four letter name in the book at us, and playing boom boxes really loud.
The cops kept an eagle eye on the marchers who were just silently praying, and walking. It was weird.
That said, I would only dial 911 to report something a lot more serious than someone tearing up a sign.
In San Antonio about ten years ago, a policeman drove his squad car onto the sidewalk, and hit someone who was praying outside a clinic. Despite witnesses I don’t think anything ever happened to the cop.
For some reason I think I’ve seen that - I took my daughter to the UAB dental clinic for her braces over the last 18 months or so, but this was way before that that I remember seeing that building.
You are right - I called 911 because I didn’t have the local precinct number on my cell phone. Plus, she was getting increasingly agitated and hostile the entire time so I was not sure what she would do next.
