A recent Clooney interview in a leftist glossy mag.(I can’t remember which, but it was published around the time of that Obama fund-raising party that Clooney gave in Europe): In among paragraphs of drooling adoration by the reporter, George confided that he had to be discreet about open political support/public appearances with Leftist candidates because he’s such a rarified celebrity, i.e. — special person — that he’d detract attention from Obama.

So George hosted that party (probably in that Swiss mansion he bought from John Swiftboat Kerry for around $5 million a few years ago). (If anything happens in Europe, Americans — because they’re so stupid — evidently don’t hear about it.)This also protects George who seems to have noticed his career is tanking. (Think Jane Fonda.)
