As Liberals gain the upper hand, their nazism is more and more visible.
To any World War Two "buff," this discussion might seem totally unnecessary -- why would anyone even doubt it?
But mostly unknown "historical revisionists" for years have been saying what Buchanan recently wrote, and so Hanson and Hitchens take the subject head on.
The results are excellent, and should provide plenty of factual ammunition for anyone suckered into a Buchanan inspired debate.
The moderator mentions his father was on a Navy ship off Okinawa.
Hanson mentions that his uncle, after whom he was named, was killed there.
Thanks, Joe. I look forward to playing this series. I am a big VDH fan. I spent a large part of my wasted youth on a family farm a couple of miles away from the Hanson place down in Fresno County.
When I hear the issue of nuking Japan discussed I now think of the map I have that shows the order of battle for the planned amphibious invasion of Japan. Operation Olympic, planned for about 1 Nov. 45 included the 33d ID (your dad). Operation Coronet, planned for about 1 Mar 46 included the 32d ID. (My dad, if he hadn’t been incapacitated on Leyte Island.) In addition to the thousands of American casualties that invasion would have entailed, I imagine there would have been many more dead Japanese than were caused by the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
