Mark Knowler is the guy who breathlessly reports stories with the bizarre tremulous voice that sounds like he's somewhere between severe heart palpitations and full cardiac infarct.
He must be related to some mucky-muck at NPR.
From having heard him before, I'm sure the situation isn't as bad as his panicking voice would make it sound.

Why?
With a plane full of reporters, there is more sh^t piling up in the cabin than there is in the bathroom.

Ill bet some of those reporters are s#ittin bricks cuz of whats in their suitcases! A camera is looked at with suspicion in Red China.
To be honest, my first thought was...Someone on board probably wasn't on the passenger list, or was not what they pretended to be.
Of course I say this because the U.S. is now crawling with intel snoops from Red China....

the ChiComms..........If they read Bernard Goldberg and surf Free Republic,You bet the the ChiCom moniter FR.
Remember during the Clinton years when the Air force had to ditch a plane in a remote China area when they were hit by an Chinese pilot and they were briefly held captive ? I think that's the way it happened
At that time I had a firewall program running to identify IP addresses that were pinging my computer trying to break in.
The Chinese were pinging me like crazy, every 30 seconds while I was on the China bashing FR threads.

Bush was in office at that time.
I was disgusted by his handling of the situation, apologetically bowing and kissing ChiCom backside.
I knew then what kind of president we had elected.

I really dont like the Chicoms but I have to admire their zero tolerance approach with people they dont like.”
Perhaps, but IMO, this doesn’t square with hosting the Olympics.....

Mark Knowler weighs about 500 lbs. Are you sure he just can’t get through the door, rather than he’s being held on the plane?

Every time I am forced to hear one of his reports I will recall the mental image of his hassles with the Chicoms. Sweet!
He does the same reports as Ann Compton, and they have had nothing nice to say about President Bush for the past 8 years.

I was disgusted by his handling of the situation, apologetically bowing and kissing ChiCom backside. After posting that comment I found the date of the incident and realized it was actually under the Bush administration.
I probably thought it was Clinton because Bush was acting just like him

This is to me a terribly funny incident. It amounts to W’s revenge against the press. Why should he give a Rat’s ass about the press. They have nothing but time.

Update: Chinese Communist Party officials have stated that until the dispute is resolved, that all passengers on board the plane will be supplied with complimentary toiletries including toothpaste, brought in by special delivery from Happy Toothpaste & Antifreeze Manufacturing Factory #9 just outside Beijing.
