Why Obama Lost the 2008 Election .... (Actually 10 reasons)
Intellectual Conservative ^ | August 6, 2008 | Phillip Ellis Jackson

Posted on 08/06/2008 8:06:09 AM PDT by IrishMike

Ten reasons why Barack Obama will not win the 2008 presidential election — and none of them have anything to do with his middle name.

Yes, I know it’s only August, and only a simpleton or clairvoyant would offer a post-election analysis about how Barack Obama blew the 2008 presidential race.

Needless to say I’m not clairvoyant. The jury still seems to be out — at least in some people’s minds — about whether I’m a simpleton, though. But, I won’t use any innate foolishness I possess as the basis for offering a judgment about the outcome of an election that’s still three months away. Rather, I’m going to do what any good political analyst should do; analyze the present situation and offer a (hopefully) informed assessment well before the trends I detect become so manifestly obvious that everyone will claim they too “knew” the outcome months in advance.

So here’s my top ten list of reasons why John McCain, despite running one of the most turgid and uninspiring campaigns in modern electoral history, will succeed George W. Bush as the 44th President of the United States.

Reason #10: Racist white voters will not support Obama

No, this isn’t a condemnation of white, Southern, toothless, gun-toting Republicans. It’s an observation about the rank and file of the Democrat party. Whether it’s angry older white women who feel that the election was stolen from Hillary by an upstart younger black man, or just your average Joe Six Pack union worker who made it clear in the Democrat primaries that Bill Clinton was speaking for him when he floated his racist trial balloons on Hillary’s behalf, the so-called party of the average guy has repeatedly shown its true colors; pure white, not half-white.

This shouldn’t be much of a surprise. A former Grand Dragon of the Klu Klux Klan is now the respected Dean of the Senate Democrats. Any effort to break the cycle of black poverty and illiteracy through welfare reform and school vouchers has been repeatedly opposed by Democrat party officials who prefer their constituency to be completely dependent on the largess of their white elected leaders, rather than even the tiniest bit self-sufficient. Even Democrat fellow travelers like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are less interested in bridging the divide between blacks and whites than they are in filling their own pockets with money from guilty white liberals and blackmailed corporations. Al Gore may have invented the carbon credit scam where his companies profit by selling hypothetical indulgences to hypocritical environmentalists who want everyone but themselves to change their lifestyles, but he doesn’t hold a candle to the organized race-for-hire politics of Jackson and Sharpton. The Democrat party is about preserving racial politics, not ending it, so it comes as little surprise that those who live by that sword may also die, at least metaphorically, by that same sword.

Take away the small cadres of limousine liberals and idealistic youth who will vote for Obama to assuage their guilt over being born wealthy and white, or just think it would be really, really cool to have a Black Guy in the White House even though it’s not all about skin color, and you have the naked face of race-based politics rearing its head in the Democrat party. The “Bradley Effect” is alive and well among Democrat voters, so named because they have a distinctive habit of lying to pollsters about their support for black candidates, only to act differently on election day. When their decisions actually count, all their progressive, liberal pabulum goes out the window as they reach for the lever and vote for the white guy like they did repeatedly in California, Chicago, New York and other cities. It’s why Obama needs to be 10-12 points ahead of McCain in the battleground states on November 4 — not statistically tied like he is today — or he’ll end up losing the election by double digits.

Seven years after 9/11, a candidate for the presidency whose middle name is Hussein...
will NOT win, and racism it ain’t.

There are >9 more reasons, but that one alone dooms his chances.

Americans don't want to elect a Pope or a King.

No, but they'll settle for a movie star whose media sycophants tell them how smart they are for doing so. One never goes broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

Well, most of the time, anyway. At some point certain key buttons do get pressed, and the author has identified a number of these. One is European popular approval - the downside to the incessant anti-American cultural churning there is that it isn't only American academics (who by and large agree with it) who are on the receiving end, but some of the rest of us not "broad-minded" enough to despise our own country. That carries a price with it, and that price is that it becomes recognizable folly to let people who say they hate us choose our future for us. They don't, all, and they won't, entirely, but that's the way it plays in Flyover Country.

But I don't think it's much of a stretch to explore the idea, at least, that Europe - at least its enlightened class - does desire a King or a Pope for America, someone to impose an orthodoxy (theirs) and make such aberrations as Ronald Reagan impossible. It may not be completely true that the Guardian cost Kerry Ohio but it certainly didn't help. The dismay at which the "obvious" choice of Kerry was rejected by American voters was one of the funniest aspects of the 2004 campaign from the perspective of a Yank watching popular opinion as expressed in the newspapers of Brussels, Paris, and Berlin. It is no accident that Obama's reception in those places is regarded with some suspicion on the part of the unwashed in the United States. It ought to be. Their model isn't ours and they don't necessarily wish us well. Too many only like us when we're bleeding. And frankly it isn't worth bleeding to make them like us.

What are you, some kind of racist?!!

Oh no! I never considered race, so I must be a subliminal racist. I have no knowledge of my racism, therefore I am one.

Thank you! I'll report to the nearest reeducation camp ASAP.

Unfortunately for Obama, as more than one commentator has pointed out, Germany, France, Russia, China, Pakistan and other nations that he aspires to impress don’t have any electoral votes in the upcoming election.

This author obviously has not seen the latest Democrat vote fraud effort:

VoteFromAbroad.Org -- The easy route to an overseas absentee ballot!

This effort is obstensibly aimed at US citizens living abroad, but it could also be called "ACORN Goes To Europe".

Just as an experiment, pretend you are a foreign national who wants to vote for Obama. You can go through the whole process and all you need is to know a single valid US Zip Code and to have a FAX number where you can receive a ballot. You are never required to provide valid identification or Social Security numbers. You can use a fake address (though the ZIP code must exist). You can register using any name you like.

There is even a handy-dandy button so you can do the whole thing En Español...

We all laughed as Obama drummed up votes in Germany. Now it looks like the joke is on us, as the Democrats go forward with a plan to get all those Germans registered to vote.

If I understand correctly..... are we saying that the black supporters simply will not show up? Or the MTV crowd is not even registered to vote?

I imagine its something like the poser that walks in a store pretending to talk on a cell phone. If you look closely, the phone is not even on. I’ll bet its not even activated.

If I see a guy with a bama shirt on or a pimped out car with a bama sticker... I immedietly think: this guy is prolly not even registered to vote, doesn’t know where his voting presinct is, doesn’t know the branches of government. He’s just on the bama bandwagon because its popular right now.

I think a lot of black people think it’s great that *A* black man got this far, and they tell the pollsters and their neighbors that they’re supporting him, but when it comes down to it, they won’t vote for *THIS* black man. The wheels are coming off now (please let them stay part-way on till he clinches the nomination, God!) and they’ll be all the way off by the election. He’ll still end up with 60 - 70% of the black vote, but no way 95%.

He supposedly has 90% of the black demographic.

...and 90% of 15 - 17 year old MTV demographic.
...and 75% of the trendy French population.
...and 70% of the German population.
...and 90% of the convicted felon demographic.
...and 99.9% of the get-high-and-forget-to-vote demograchic.

I think he should go ahead and try for dogs and cats.

Actually, it's a lot simpler than that:

-He's black
-He's a Marxist
--He's arrogant
-He's got no experience
-He's got no accomplishments
-He's not a natural born American (until I hear/see otherwise)
-He's got very dubious friendships
-He's got too many people under the bus
-He's willing to put party over country
-He's not running for America but for the world
-He's not for energy independence (though he'd have people believing otherwise)
-He's going to allow the Bush tax cuts expire
-He's going to increase other taxes and impose new ones
-He's willing to lose wars in order to win an election
-He's willing to allow a "born alive" child to be murdered

I'll pretty sure there are many more
