can you believe the crowd sang Happy B-day Mr President to Obama! You have got to be kidding! I tend to keep FNC on during the day while I do other stuff and usually turn the sound down when Obama comes on, so I missed that bit of gar-bahge. Jeez Louise. People have no shame.

Happy Birthday, radiohead.
Today is also Jeff Gordon's (Nascar) birthday and Helen Thomas. Louie Armstrong was born on this date as was Shelley the British poet and the late Queen Mum. Quite a diverse group, no?

Good evening snugs - thank you for the dose.
I’m posting a link to an image and biography of Brig. General Margaret Woodward. She’s quite the LADY.

snugs-
I am a big fan of Dad’s Army and Steptoe and Son on BBC Radio 7. I don’t know why I didn’t think about it, but there are episodes of the tv versions of both shows on YouTube.
If this is your taste, do a search for either show on YouTube and the episodes will come up. I’ve been having great fun seeing the people whose voices I’ve only heard up until now.

Do you think he’ll do or say anything to call attention to China’s oppressive regime?

Thanks all for the birthday wishes. Better me than Obama, huh? : )
My birthday present to myself - 18 lbs lost after going vegan. Still a lot to go, but it’s a start.

Steptoe and Son are not my cup of tea but I love Dad's Army I have a couple of DVDs of them and there are often a lot of re-runs of the series on TV.
If you get chance to watch a few Dad's Army on TV you will notice that it is based in a Kentish town which my dad says is very typical of rural but on the largish town in Kent of that era even the characters are similar.
Not many programs are based on places in our area so it is nice to have a few that are.
