The ships' logs of great maritime figures such as Lord Nelson and Captain Cook have cast new light on climate change by suggesting that global warming may not be an entirely man-made phenomenon.
Scientists have uncovered a treasure trove of meteorological information contained in the detailed logs kept by those on board the vessels that established Britain's great seafaring traditition including those on Nelsons' Victory and Cook's Endeavour.

Look, Cook and Nelson ... just because you were there with first hand, eye witness knowledge, doesn't mean you actually know anything! According to postmodernism, no one can know anything and the observations of Cook, etc. are just meaningless words on paper. The postmodernists also say that contemporary scientific observations are meaningless because, well, just because. About the only things we can believe are the words of Marx and his junior disciple, Al Gore.

Interesting. I had not thought much about that, that in the days of sailing ships much information was collected that no one collects any more.

Anthrogenic Global Warming Theory is quite robust with respect to data. All observations confirm it with probability 1.0.
Once the IPCC gets done torturing these data they’ll confess to anything, including AGW in the first degree.

I was on this replica when it was moored at Alexandria, Virginia several years ago. Magnificent, beautiful, but so small. Even in the captain’s cabin I couldn’t stand up, and I’m 5-10.

There is a raised wooden plaque with a brass plate inscribed “Nelson fell here” on the deck of the Victory.
I can’t say I’m surprised, I tripped over it myself..

"I was on this replica when it was moored at Alexandria, Virginia several years ago." Yes, those old ships are astonishing.
But one thing they had in common with our latest high tech nuclear powered vessles is: nearly unlimited range, or at least range limited only by the amount of food they could carry. And consider, if they could find a remote island with fresh water and live turtles, they'd be good to go for months more. Broken mast? Find a tree...

LOL!
Here we see Lord Nelson carefully recording temperatures and other weather data near Trafalgar in 1805... ;-)
Here numerous global warming alarmists gathering to dispute Admiral Nelson's temperature data!
And here poor Nelson, struck down in the very act of proving scientifically that man-made global warming is nothing but cruel hoax perpetrated by people maniacally intent on world domination! ;-)
