Dana Milbank of The Washington Post has a great piece on how Obama has gone from the "presumptive [Democratic] nominee to [the] presumptuous nominee."
Campaigns always wind up being about who can build the stronger narrative about the other candidate. This year, it seems, all Democrats are saying about John McCain is that he's old and "Bush III." Creative. They're swiping at him any way they can without really staying on message. Maybe that's why J-Mac has been gaining in this poll, and in this poll, and in this poll...

This is the first thing I agree with BHO on. He is a symbol. A symbol of black nationalism, anti-americanism, terror, and liberalism.

Barry has actually experienced several "jump the shark" moments. He is not getting a bounce from his college-backpack-hostel tour de farce of Europe as expected, but actually in my opinion - is approaching a free-fall. Barry's ambiguous polls and an "awakening" of the electorate to his false-god image is a real "change I can believe in". When "Fight the Smears" refuses to comment on Larry Sinclair (let's play Smear or No Smear), that should be yet another sign of weakening.
Mix in Operation Chaos, Recreate 68, and PUMA, and its not looking good for Barry. It might turn out to be a referendum on Barry (Pelosi, Reid, no-drill congress, defeat and denial of success in Iraq) and not a referendum on McCain (as a Bush extended term). It is up to Barry to lose, and McCain to simply show up. If Hillary steals the nomination from Barry, the Dems will self destruct.

What Barry actually is, is a
Rorschach Test-- people project upon him whatever ( often weird ) hopes, fantasies, and dreams they harbor.
