Oh, for the love of crumbcake, this is getting so creepy.
I have been saying for weeks that Jonah Goldberg's book Liberal Fascism has really helped my understanding of Barack Obama. I have pointed it out in three other posts:
Barack Obama is a 1920s-style fascist
Early 20th century "progressivism" has returned...
Barack Obama: I AM America
Every time I do, I think to myself, oh dear, this is going to sound overwrought. I do it anyways, because truth is truth, and the truth is that Barack Obama talks about himself and his plans in the same transcendent, populist, cult-of-personality terms as the fascists of the 20s and 30s.
And I don't want to sound like a broken record with Goldberg's book, but folks, he has done history a real service with it. He has pulled truths back into the light of day that, without his efforts, might have become irretrievably lost in the left's mists of revisionism. It informs our understanding of so much of our history . . . and it looks like it's going to be very helpful in understanding Barack Obama and what he might do with power.
"I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions."
Democrats are trying to defend this, but there's no hiding the man's arrogance and will to power.
If I were to be elected president, I would try to follow in the footsteps of Washington, to see myself as a citizen with the awesome responsibility and great privilege of leading this amazing nation.
One gets the impression that it is Obama who sees himself as the leader that America would be privileged to have.

Like your tagline!
Looking forward to the read you have given us - thanks!
Strangely enough - Obama continues his silence on his eligibility to serve.
That would be an essay I look forward to - his offer of proof.
Yeah, it would be okay if he thought he could help, but that it wasn’t about him. But it’s all about him! American traditions? Bah. Washington serving only two terms voluntarily-—now THAT is an American tradition. And it’s an American tradition that set a precedent abided by every president until Obama’s fascist predecessor FDR.
"Best Traditions" indeed. NUTS!
Yes. I’d like to see a REAL birth certificate. I’m curious about his grad paper. He’s shrouded in mystery that no one seems to want to investigate. Why?
Of course, I'm making that up . . . but it's not much of a stretch, is it?
By my calculations, he’ll say that exact sentence within 9 days.
The dichotomy of visions is on display.
On one side, you have those who see the human as inherently flawed and imperfectable, and therefore in need of restraint, limiting power to the individual is a good thing, because humans inherently cannot be trusted with unlimited power over others.
On the other side, you have the vision that humans are perfectable. It logically follows that some are more perfect than others, and therefore have greater wisdom and decision making ability (Obama’s flaunted “judgement”).
These individuals not only have the right, but the OBLIGATION to make decisions for others, as they “know better” than anyone else - anyone else living, dead, and even better than God Himself.
This viewpoint of “obligation” is what we’re seeing in Obama - he’s an enlightened elite, and he is telling us that he’ll do his duty to lead the rest of us.
I hope he continues to mouth crap like this. It will only serve to open the eyes of people who haven’t decided yet on just what a pompous, arrogant know-nothing jerk he really is.
Yeah, I just looked it up at the library and I am number 25 in the multi-library queue! Must be popular....
Obama notes tragic US past
American history’s __”sad” aspects require action__, the senator tells cheering journalists
http://starbulletin.com/2008/07/28/news/story05.html
“I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it’s Native Americans or African-American issues or __reparations__, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds.”
“..When Obama walked on stage at the McCormick Center, many journalists in the audience leapt to their feet and applauded enthusiastically __after being told not to do so.__ ..”
The problem with this headline is that the O man does not know what those “best traditions are”.
From psst statements made by him, traditions like personal liberty and responsibility, privately owned property, honesty, integrity and a hard days work are concepts that are foreign to him.
We are so screwed.
The full quote, according to Politico.com, Time and the Washington post was:
“It has become increasingly clear in my travel, the campaign, that the crowds, the enthusiasm, 200,000 people in Berlin, is not about me at all. Its about America. I have just become a symbol...

Obama hasn’t run a campaign of RETURNING to America’s past, he has urged a new direction of CHANGE saying that the way we have lived before can’t continue. The world looks down their collective noses at our air conditioners, our cars, our banquets.
We will have to do without not because of scarcity of resource, “just because”.
“I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions.”
I’ve heard THIS quote on tape from Obama’s lips played on the radio this morning. He did say it. This is not in any way an “excerpt” of that quote as reported by Politico/Time-Lies/WashtingtonPo.
