Steve Shippert, of ThreatsWatch.org just sent this email out on a small email ring of bloggers. It is simply and truly incredibly important, and eloquent. I beseech every blogger to post it on their blog. If all do, it will redound widely, and be widely heard, as it must be, if we care for our nation, our children's future, everything we value in life and liberty. This must get out. It can really shape the debate in this country, and sway many. In every election, there is a moment when it happens, and Shippert's message is that moment. The message was, ''You had these opportunities, America. You didn't do anything,'' FBI agent George Crouch Jr. testified Friday at Salim Hamdan's war crimes trial.
The United States could have killed bin Laden in Khartoum, Sudan, before he moved to Afghanistan in 1996, Hamdan told his interrogators. They could have killed him after al Qaida's 1998 twin bombings at the U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. Or after the October 2000 suicide bombing of the USS Cole, at the port of Aden in Yemen, which left 17 U.S. sailors dead.
Instead, ''Bin Laden was emboldened.'' So he struck with the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, leaving nearly 3,000 dead.
It is bitter irony that lawyers are conveying such through a trial. Remote controlled Tomahawks, the illusion of safety beyond the sanctuary of oceans, and the hot pursuit via attorneys and law both remote and unrecognized by murderous men who seek our death. This was how we convinced ourselves of our certain and active defense.
We were offered bin Laden in transit from Sudan to Afghanistan. But we did not want him. Our lawyers had no battle, our leaders no mettle.
Most of us, though not all, have learned nothing. After thousands smote and seven years of war, we are back to our superior ways, demanding Habeas Corpus and noting in the very first trial that bin Laden's deputy was read no Miranda rights upon his capture - or was it arrest?
They say History repeats itself. Never before has it applied so swiftly, within the same generation and within the same conflict.
A selfish society incapable of sacrifice is equally incapable of self-defense. Our greatest concern is not the pursuit of madmen or the states which feed them. It is not even the cost of oil and its affect on our economy and future. It is the cost of the gasoline that cycles through our tanks and its affect on our personal checking account balances.
Cowardice, cloaked in arrogance and concealed behind self-assured brilliance, charts a troubled path; one which appears circular, where constant motion deceptively passes for progress. Progress towards what, we disagree, though our enemies do not, as they laugh.
Many say it will take another catastrophic attack to bring us to our collective senses. But it will likely not come. For, if al-Qaeda (et al) is smart - and they are - they will leave us alone on our own soil while we rip ourselves apart. No explosives, no bombs, no weapons of war required. We are, after all, suddenly and finally waging their centuries-long war upon ourselves. Brilliantly.
We allow ourselves to be told that we are what is wrong with the world; torturous, greedy, destructive, with disregard for the poorest and bitter intolerance for anyone not like us. We Balkanize our society and point fingers at each other, laying these same charges against one domestic group or another with the venom and aggression once reserved for distant, oppressive enemies.
Can we awaken from our own self-destructive slumber? The decisive war is not in Iraq, nor Afghanistan, nor Pakistan or any other distant place where we perceive our enemies to be. The decisive battle is right here, from Maine to San Diego, from St. Louis to Atlanta.
If we are incapable of rediscovering that which Constitutes us and what distinguishes America form every other nation on this planet, and acknowledging that America, her people, our liberty and our unequaled charity are indeed good and our values just, then what does Iraq or Afghanistan matter?
Can we truly identify that which we are defending? For if we cannot, we are not. We are simply preserving soil and borders, protecting cities and people - that which can be found anywhere else on this planet.
What will America be, what will she look like when our children are thrust at the helm? Will they write that we defended her, or will they write that we devoured and discarded her? This, not al-Qaeda or the War on Terror, keeps me up at night.
For we can defeat al-Qaeda and yet have defended nothing at all in the long, painful process. And our children will be compelled to write of us, ''You had these opportunities, America. You didn't do anything."

Churchill: I'm gonna repeat that, tell me if I got that right: Why shouldn't we do something and how do you you move so they don't see you coming.
As to the first part, not a reason in the world that I could see. I can't find a single reason that you shouldn't in a principled way —there may be some practical considerations, such as do you know how (laughter from audience)
—you know, often these things are processes. It's not just an impulse. And certainly it's not just an event.
And the simple answer, although it probably should be more complicated, but I'm not being flip and giving the simple answer, is:
You carry the weapon. That's how they don't see it coming. You're the one...
They talk about "color blind or blind to your color." You said it yourself.
You don't send the Black Liberation Army into Wall Street to conduct an action.
You don't send the American Indian Movement into downtown Seattle to conduct an action.
Who do you send? You. Your beard shaved, your hair cut close, and wearing a banker's suit.
There's probably a whole lot more to it, you know that. But there's where you start. .."

Interesting, I haven’t been reading the threads of late. I’m so sick of seeing Obama throw people under the bus and McCain watching and saying nothing.
Cyber showed me some online photos today where Obama had a rented jet big enough for his entourage repainted from on the tail that had our Flag to his danged logo. And in front was O-Force One. Who does he think he is?
I’m not a McCain fan. I’ll say nothing bad about him on this post.
I’m not going to hold my nose nor close my eyes now. I will vote for McCain. It really doesn’t matter here, anyway, being AZ, but I will not hold my nose.
Obama is evil incarnate. He really, really scares me.
And of course it isn’t just Obama. You also get his entire enntourage of Marxists, Maoists, bombers and racist radicals for free...

He didn’t even bother seeing our Troops in the hospital in Germany because he wouldn’t get coverage from reporters. He could have gone in the vet hospital and visited, but it didn’t suit his devious ways.
These heroic vets probably would have liked to see him speak or maybe even a touch, a smile. Nah, he played basketball, no photo ops for him there.
He owes these vets. And so do we.
After reading some, I want to know how the media fits in. Why does the media ignore Rangel speaking in public for communist organization. Where does that put the media?
And who all is paying for Obama? It has to include Soros at least.
Most of all, why would any American vote for Obama?

They have been carefully prepared for a candidate like Obama.
As a result, Obama's ardent followers (including the MSM) are not swayed by logic, reason, or truth, and regardless of his positions, his gaffes, his past, or his associations, he is an idol and they the idolaters. His campaign media-blitz has been designed and engineered to evoke just such mindless hero worship without considering specific positions.
Those wild-eyed people represent the millions of Americans raised in the government day-care and indoctrination centers we call public schools who did not have, or would not listen to, parents and others who tried to counterweight the propaganda they heard at school...who have been raised on 60 second sound bite time spans and know no better.
You have other tens of millions on the dole who will vote for him regardless of position because he promises to keep pilfering the public largess for them.
Still othes of millions will vote for him simply because he is black, not caring to hear or look at his actual positions.
Other millions will vote for him because they know exactly who he is and what he represents and agree with his anti-American positions.
The first three are all what is termed, useful idiots, a term coined by Lennin for the dupes he got to support him.
Against this it is left to us to educate, arouse, and amass the tens of millions of Americans, of all races and creeds, who understand and hold fast to the foundational principles our constitutional republic rests upon...many of them the bitter, rural Americans clinging to their guns and religion that Obama so arrogantly spoke of.
Finally, understand that this is not the first time in history that rock-star, messianic status has been conferred on a populist, charismatic individual in order to hand them the reigns of power. Although there are many critical differences, still it is important when you consider the danger that this candidate poses to American foreign policy, our economy, our social fabric, and to the war we are fighting against fanatical Islamic Jihad terrorists, to note the following comparison:
Simply put, Barack Hussein Obama is the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.
That's why I keep hammering home this message. it falls principally to us (as it should) to educate ourselves and others about this. Most committed Americans, who hold fast the values this nation was founded upon, will vote accordingly once they find out the truth about this man.

Hollywood’s guilt and undeserved influence has aided and abetted the National Education Assn and its blatant robbery of teachers’ union funds in order to throw millions at the Democrat part so they can continue their scam of taking all our money and giving pennies back - rob from everyone and keep for themselves - has created a class of willing idiots.
They’re probably right. An 18 year girl on welfare has a baby and gets a free apartment. What an easy way to move out on your parents. Welfare cases are driving better cars than me, get food stamps and go to the food pantry three times a week. I’d never have to work again! All I’d need is to afford beer.
