"For those who oppose the death penalty and want to see it end, our best bet is to vote for Barack Obama because his supporters have been working behind the scenes to end this practice," Bishop said.

Now there’s an endorsement money can’t buy. LMAO
I am a firm supporter of the death penalty. If you don’t want to pay the penalty, then don’t do the crime.
I hope the families of the victims can gain comfort by the fact that justice has finally been served.

"...The attack began in Gentry's car after a night of drinking and drug use and continued on an isolated road near Saltillo in north Mississippi, court records show. When Gentry tried to run, Bishop chased him down, holding Gentry while Johnson bludgeoned the 22-year-old victim. Prosecutors said Gentry was hit 23 times before the hammer lodged in his throat. The man was left for dead in bushes along the dirt road..."
Good riddance.

I must be one twisted sick witch because I love that these monsters get to know what it’s like to die when they aren’t “ready”. No, I mean glee. I hope they were just as afraid as their victims. Especially the child murderer.
To: KeyLargo
Well it is only natural that a politician who supports the killing of babies born alive would be against the death penalty for murderers. That is what the left calls “consistency”.

Notice how they say `southern states’ executed 2 overnight. That's because more people in the south live in a reality based world and we have the balls to serve justice! Like Ron White says...Texas executions are moving into the express lane!

Sonnier was convicted of murdering Melody Flowers, 27, and her 2-year-old son, Patrick, in their Houston apartment in 1991. It took 17 years. So when does the fast lane kick in?

Of all of the headlines they could have chosen for the article, I thought the “Southern States” choice a bit odd and very indicative of a subtle bias. At least they did print the full details of the crimes themselves so that readers could judge for themselves if the death penalty was warranted in these cases.

Flowers was raped, stabbed, strangled and beaten with a hammer until its handle broke. Her son was stabbed eight times. Her body was dumped into a bathtub filled with water and the child’s body was tossed on top of her.”
I think I’m safe in saying the majority here in the southern states look down on that type of thing. The only problem that I see is that it took 17 years to dispose of this gentleman, during which he continued to consume food and breathe air that would have been better used by others.

The perfect GOP ad. Unfortunately, the GOP leaders don’t have the stones to run it.

the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals stopped his scheduled punishment after lawyers raised questions about the legality of the lethal injection procedures. WHEN will we insist that our courts stop this nonsense? This heinous double murder was committed 17 YEARS ago. He and his lawyer had already had plenty of time to whine about the injection procedures.
To: KeyLargo
I must admit I don't remember this double murder but the emotion in the voice of the Houston talk show guy as he talked about it yesterday brought tears to my eyes. This man was a monster and after he savagely murdered this woman and her 2 year old, he took her bloody clothes back to his house and rolled in them. It makes me sad that he lived 17 years longer than she did.

I'm sure his "absentee" ballot is ready for counting.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
