As tributes to this fine man pour in from all over the world, Catholic Online offers our prayers to his family and our deepest condolences on their loss. Tony Snows heroism in fighting cancer was another sign of the character which informed his stellar career as well as his commitment to family.
In his address to the graduates of Catholic University he spoke these words:... But see, theres more. Once youve gotten past the mirror phase, then things begin to get really interesting. You begin to confront the truly overwhelming question: Why am I here? And that begins to open up the whole universe, because it impels you to think like the child staring out at the starry night: Who put the lights in the sky? Who put me here? Why?
And pretty soon you are thinking about God. Dont shrink from pondering Gods role in the universe or Christs. "

just a few weeks ago, maybe 2-3 weeks ago, Tony Snow responded to a question regarding his health on an FR thread and pretty much said he was fine... he sounded so positive and so i was confident he was winning this battle... today's news is heartbreaking... not only was he truly good, he had a wonderful, distinct voice that was recognizeable...
God bless Tony and his family.
Our local fishwrap has fairly good articles on local business leaders. One of the formatted questions for the the local leaders is, “Who would you like to have dinner with?”
Most often the famous both dead or alive are cited.
Tony would have been one of my top choices. Not because of his fame, but because of his intelligence, love of family, country and being a great guy.
Amen to that, Grampa!
Here is the AP article the Dallas Morning Spews has on its website.

“Critics suggested that Snow was turning the traditionally informational
daily briefing into a personality-driven media event short on facts and long
on confrontation.”

Translation: His critics are just plain stupid partisan Liberals.
Tony Snow will be missed.
Screw his critics they can’t hold a candle to him.

Thanks for listening, TA.
I appreciate.

Always my pleasure, AR. Particularly since you’re a vet.
Common Tator, I really admire your fight and your grit. Not many would keep on going after being told to lay down and die...wow.
But, Tony didn’t chose the wrong path either. Fact is, we all are going to die sometime. Ultimately, you are going to lose the fight. That is a fact that will not change, no matter how hard you fight.
Tony made the choice to accept the inevitable. He made the choice to pour all he had into other people. Into his beliefs and his family, and his country. That meant more to him than even his own life.
From all accounts he died a happy man. In the end, that is what we all hope for.
God Bless Tony Snow. He did a good job! .......... gonzo
Rest in Peace
Tony Snow
