Toddlers who dislike spicy food 'racist'
Telegraph UK ^ | 7/7/2008 | Rosa Prince

Toddlers who turn their noses up at spicy food from overseas could be branded racists by a Government-sponsored agency.

The National Children's Bureau, which receives £12 million a year, mainly from Government funded organisations, has issued guidance to play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist incidents among youngsters in their care.

This could include a child of as young as three who says "yuk" in response to being served unfamiliar foreign food.

The guidance by the NCB is designed to draw attention to potentially-racist attitudes in youngsters from a young age.

It alerts playgroup leaders that even babies can not be ignored in the drive to root out prejudice as they can "recognise different people in their lives".

The 366-page guide for staff in charge of pre-school children, called Young Children and Racial Justice, warns: "Racist incidents among children in early years settings tend to be around name-calling, casual thoughtless comments and peer group relationships."

It advises nursery teachers to be on the alert for childish abuse such as: "blackie", "Pakis", "those people" or "they smell".

The National Children’s Bureau - Just when I thought government agencies couldn’t get more pathetic and insane... the NCB comes along with the absurdity.

I don't really know the “kind” but I'm pretty sure that it's whatever kind has coriander in it. I've tended to always avoid it so I'm not very knowledgeable about curry.

My dad also doesn't much like coriander. I've grown it, (Pak Chee in Thai) by the acre. All parts are used in various Thai cuisine dishes.

As an adult I’ve eaten some chili that had the same affect on me.

George Herbert Walker Bush was broccoli-phobic. He could have been impeached for that.

HUH? I thought he loved it. I remember the enemedia giving him a bit of harassment over it.

I think the gag goes back to the 1930s or 1940s. I’ve even seen businesses with that in neon.

Yes. That's one of the reasons why I try to avoid Thai food. The thing is, it's not that I don't like the flavor of curry. It's that it refuses to stay in my stomach for any more than 30 seconds. Makes for some distressing moments if I accidentally order curry at a restaurant.

hehehe.

rightwingintelligentsia:

So, what do you call a Muslim kid who won’t eat pork?

The proper address will soon be "MASTER".

Uncledave:

So in order to force ‘tolerance’ they are removing any diversity.

Great observation.

This puzzles me about our own "Celebrate Diversity" crowd also.
Essentially their position is "Celebrate Diversity by eliminating your own culture and people."

There are only two possible results to this trend in the west;

1 - Total capitulation to the forces of political correctness and the end of western civilization.

2 - Armed revolution.

The second option is difficult when your government has already disarmed the populace, right down to the last Boy Scout jack-knife and pointed stick.

Poor you, Rebelbase: A great chili with a nasty aftermath. I hate it when that happens. I guess this meant you weren't a real "non-racist" - even as an adult.

Oh the Shame of Cuisine Racism! It's always so revealing. ;>

It means you worshipped at the throne of the White Porcelain Alter. How shameful for anyone to do so, according to the article.

I suppose British Teachers and child care workers are next supposed to snoop out nappies and toilets for EVIDENCE of "cuisine racism".

Egads, it was so much easier back in the days of "by the pickings of my nose", "if the witch floats, she's a witch", examining spittle, casting the "bones". Probably smelled better too.

They harrassed him because he didn't like it.

Here's a G.H.W Bush quote from Wikipedia:

"I do not like broccoli and I haven’t liked it since I was a little kid and my mother made me eat it. And I’m President of the United States and I’m not going to eat any more broccoli. Now look, this is the last statement I’m going to have on broccoli. There are truckloads of broccoli at this very minute descending on Washington. My family is divided. For the broccoli vote out there: Barbara loves broccoli. She has tried to make me eat it. She eats it all the time herself. So she can go out and meet the caravan of broccoli that’s coming in."

I wonder how many non-white toddlers will be monitored and admonished for "racist" actions?

All of them.

Dead Puppies aren't much fun, either.
